Summary: The Workflow Staff Pharmacist verifies the work of pharmacy technicians and ensures the accuracy of all orders fulfilled by the Vetsource Home Delivery Pharmacy. This position involves the verification of prescription orders being shipped in the pharmacy order fulfillment system.

Essential Duties:
Final Order Verification
Verify the work of pharmacy technicians and interns, including the accuracy of orders being shipped to pet owners (product scan and label review)
Verify the accuracy of medications packaged in compliance packaging
Other projects may be assigned related to basic electronic prescription verification, verbal telephone orders, and other functions necessitated by the department.

Experience and Qualifications:
Current pharmacist license in Oregon must be in good standing
Must possess a thorough knowledge of state and federal pharmacy rules & laws
Ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment

Customer service skills: should be professional, down-to-earth, sincere, always willing to go the extra mile
Team building skills: should be positive, respectful, approachable
Dispensing skills: should be accurate, efficient, detail-oriented, and dependable

Must continually expand and develop clinical knowledge in the field of veterinary pharmacy
Must be comfortable guiding the work and development of technicians
Experienced using G Suite (Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, etc.), Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word; solid computer skills are required, including the ability to learn how to navigate new programs quickly
Must have flexibility with scheduling and be open to a changing schedule, depending on business needs (including weekend shifts)


Supervisory Responsibilities:
Responsible for the dispensing activities of pharmacy technicians as required by law

Preferred Qualifications:
Candidates should want to learn and work in a specialized pharmacy environment
Should appreciate the rewards of continuing education in veterinary pharmacy
Should be able to supervise and direct the work of pharmacy technicians

Working conditions:
Ability to sit or stand for shift work & perform work involving high level of physicality; checking orders involving repetitive use of arms and hands
Ability to work on repetitive tasks and maintain focus
Ability to adapt and self-direct in response to changing needs and deadlines
Ability to work weekend shifts
An environment where dogs are present

Education:
B.S. or PharmD in Pharmacy
