Fermilab's Applied Physics and Superconducting Technology Division is looking for a Summer Student Magnet Analyst.

You Will:
  • Conduct / Support / Assist with research on existing and/or potential new projects as assigned by supervisor ensuring deadlines and priorities are met.
  • Present poster, paper, presentation related to an area of specialty, assignment or scientific research
  • Support of Diversity: Commitment to a respectful and inclusive work environment.

We Are Looking For:
  • Enrollment in an undergraduate program in an accredited university or college at the time of application.
  • Mathematical skills through calculus and differential equations.
  • Basic physics understanding of magnetostatics.
  • Proficiency in modeling magnets using magnet design program Poisson Superfish or Opera.
  • Computer fluency with MS Office products under Windows.
  • Flexibility in approach to work to meet changing project, team and/or workplace needs.
  • Ability to work independently, exercising a high degree of self-motivation, resourcefulness, independent judgment, problem-solving and time management skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to interact professionally and effectively with all levels of lab employees.
