POSITION SUMMARY

The Wellness Specialist is responsible for the delivery of quality health promotion programs for Health Engagement in a variety of settings. The position is also responsible for assisting with the planning and implementation of comprehensive health promotion programs which may include but not limited to biometric screenings, awareness events, and health communications. The position may provide individual education with guidance under appropriate supervision. The position will assist with customer service needs including health plan navigation, registration and enrollment for wellness related programming. Through these responsibilities, this position contributes to the improvement of health status for designated populations in the AtlantiCare primary and regional service areas.

This position supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts and by demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and cooperation.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in health related field from an accredited school or 10 years related experience required

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: A valid NJ driver's license is required. Heart Saver CPR\\/AED required within six months from date of hire or transfer.

EXPERIENCE: 2 years of related experience required, preferably with corporate or community based wellness programming. Proficient with software programs such as Microsoft Office (including Powerpoint) are required. Experience with social media platforms preferred.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Potential for exposure to hazards and risks of the hospital environment including exposure to infectious diseases, hazardous substances and the potential for injury.

This position requires travel mostly in and around the AtlantiCare primary service areas as well as some travel within the regional service area of AtlantiCare. Other locations may be required as related to the job expectations. Position requires flexibility of work hours. This position requires occasional walking and standing. May have prolonged periods of sitting and frequently works with such equipment as computer terminal/fax machine/copier/telephone.
