VP, Sales & Business Development will be focused on Amyris RebM sales and business growth within the North America region, with the responsibility to make Amyris the supplier-of-choice for its zero-calorie, natural, great tasting sweetener derived from sugar cane. Amyris' RebM is poised to disrupt the sweetener industry with its purity, price, and availability. The successful candidate will develop and implement the strategic sales and business development plan to achieve annual high-growth volume and revenue targets. It is a MUST to have a considerable experience and connections within the high potency sweeteners and the Food & Beverage Industry.

The position reports to the Senior VP, Nutrition Ingredients, and based in North America. This is a multi-million dollar business revenue responsibility, working along-side our international team based in Brazil and leveraging Amyris' D2C PurecaneTM consumer brand.

This position will direct and oversee all B2B sales efforts for Amyris sweetener business to customers throughout North America. She or he will serve as the business activator responsible for achieving targeted results by accelerating revenue growth and profitability, building market share, and providing all strategic guidance to the organization to achieve excellence for the region.

The successful candidate will be a highly experienced sales professional with 10+ years of demonstrated sales performance, well connected with senior R&D, Procurement and Marketing leaders in the global and US consumer-package goods industries. She or he will have a deep working knowledge of the high potency sweetener business in North America (preferably with stevia), of labeling and regulatory trends, of industry economics, and of mega-lifestyle-patterns. Of critical importance will be the experience of building and executing a strategic business development plan.

The successful candidate will need to develop and maintain a deep working relationship with the functional heads including Supply Chain, Finance, HR, Communication and Manufacturing. The role is responsible for developing and/or implementing appropriate initiatives (events, trade shows, lectures, seminars, workshops etc.…) that maximize and contribute toward overall Amyris RebM market awareness and sales volume.

Responsibilities:
    • Design and implement strategic sales growth plan for the region
    • Develop and cultivates lasting customer relationships
    • Responsible for expanding the customer base
    • Delivers sales revenue budget
    • Develops strategies and orchestrates company resources to maximize sales volume and profitable customer satisfaction
    • Leads account relationships including coordinating account plans and recommending contractual terms
    • Manage the overall relationship between customers, Amyris and its partners
    • Develop solid relationship and networking with key decision makers within the accounts
    • Ethical and safety behavior in all work and business activities
    • Track and provide information, expertise and competitive intelligence
    • Increase the market awareness of Amyris high potency sweetener through events, trade shows, seminars, lectures.


Professional competencies:
    • 10-15 years of experience in sales within high potency sweetener Industry
    • Proven experience in business development and sales growth
    • Strong ability to drive performance and achieve results, delivering against KPIs
    • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
    • Capable of building and maintaining effective and trusting relationships
    • A team player and individual contributor as required
    • Comfortable and capable of seeing the “big picture”; able to think conceptually and strategically, yet able to sweat the operational details and deadlines to deliver concrete results
