Frontier Co-op is currently seeking a Vice President of Operations to join our management team. As a part of the executive team, reporting to the CEO, you would be responsible for managing all aspects of Operations which includes: production, production planning, distribution and engineering.

Responsibilities:

  • Directing all plant operations to ensure safe, timely, high quality product delivery while reducing costs.
  • Strategic planning & execution to enhance profitability, productivity, and efficiency throughout the company's operations.
  • Implementing improved processes and management methods to generate higher ROI and workflow optimization.
  • Develop, monitor & report on operating costs within functional areas. Alerts management of cost and labor over run. Makes recommendations and implements solutions to problems related to same.
  • Oversees plant managers at manufacturing facilities to ensure the production is completed in a timely & cost-effective manner
  • Manages logistics leadership team to ensure distribution of company's products are cost effective while maintaining high quality service which includes on-time, error free and complete deliveries
  • Oversite of purchases of new facilities, equipment, and improvements to plant properties

Successful candidates would have:

  • 10+ years combined CPG industry experience in a high change over environment. Ideal candidates would have prior personal care, food or spice manufacturing experience
  • 10 years combined experience managing all aspects of production, production planning, distribution and engineering including managing the financial performance & critical KPI's of manufacturing performance
  • Proven success establishing, facilitating, leading and managing cross functional teams
  • Prior working knowledge of modern Enterprise Management Planning (ERP), M3 experience preferred
  • Strong analytical / reporting skills required, proficient in Excel
  • Proven track record of leading through change & driving efficiency
  • Must be able to prioritize, manage and drive projects effectively and meet deadlines
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Business with MBA preferred
  • Candidates must be willing to relocate to Cedar Rapids, Iowa

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret such items as highly detailed professional, scientific, and technical journals, and legal documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints from both inside and outside the company. Ability to write speeches, articles or memos using original or innovative techniques or style. Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on controversial or complex topics to such groups as top management, boards of directors, or the general public.

QUANTITATIVE SKILLS

Ability to comprehend the most complex financial principles. Ability to use a computer to create highly customized spreadsheets and charts, run reports, and interpret data. Ability to analyze balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and the most detailed types of financial documents, and apply that information to make long-term, strategic decisions.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Excellent communications, interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Ability to prioritize, delegate, and oversee multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel programs; familiarity with other business software.
