The Role

The VP of Growth Marketing will report to the CEO and work closely with our Director of Marketing and Director of Community, and potentially, a Director of Paid Media or Communications as direct reports.

  • Lead the effort to refine Plume's short and long term go-to-market & growth strategies across B2C, B2B and B2B2C channels to grow new user acquisition and activation in a scalable and efficient way.
  • Define strategy, execute and manage integrated marketing plans to maximize brand awareness, demand, pipeline and deal acceleration aligned with Plume's growth targets
  • Provide market perspective and audience insights to drive content for acquisition, growth and retention of our most valuable prospects and customers.
  • Lead effective experimentation of new channels, campaigns, creative, incentives, and approaches for the purpose of building scalable solutions while identifying opportunities for optimizing LTV/CAC, and implementing testing ideas to continuously enhance performance.
  • Develop Plume's health-insurance facing and B-2-B marketing branding and content
  • Develop, run, and analyze high-growth campaigns across multiple platforms/ channels with an emphasis on data-driven decisions.
  • Build, inspire, and lead a high performing marketing organization that delivers against marketing goals: clearly defined KPIs and performance measurement, roles, career paths, and employee success strategies.
  • Work cross-functionally to develop communities that support members and increase ARR.
  • Manage the national paid, earned, owned and social channels to the U.S. trans community, with the budget averaging over $1,500,000 annually

At Plume, we're obsessed with understanding, articulating, advocating for, and helping meet the medical needs of our defined but understudied demographic market at a quantitative, outcome-based level. We are looking for a marketing pioneer to drive a culture of experimentation and fast learning, testing a variety of channels, messages, and touchpoints in the customer journey to understand what works best, as evidenced by what most readily and sustainably helps us achieve key OKRs. You'll develop pathways for ongoing clarity regarding the trans consumer's path to purchase of medical services from Plume. You'll lead from a shared understanding of our vision, our marketing objectives, and how well we're hitting the mark. You'll balance the healthy tensions associated with the multiple roles of marketing, both acting as a long-term steward of the company brand and relationships, while optimizing for immediate growth. You'll align the team's structures and accountabilities to meet our goals for acquisition and month-over-month growth.

As a member of the Executive Team, you will represent our members, and this understudied market, as you collaborate closely with leads across the Product, Operations, Business Development, and Clinical verticals.

  • Deep understanding and compassion for the trans experience
  • 15+ years of B2C and/ or B2B marketing experience leading marketing initiatives and managing high-performing teams, preferably at least five in a startup or rapid-growth environment
  • 8+ years of experience in operations, analytics, bizops or other quantitative discipline (statistics, business economics, etc) roles where you infuse quantified results, analysis, and rapid response into all aspects of a team and company
  • Healthcare (ideally telehealth) experience in DTC and/or healthcare systems
  • Experience working for brands within healthcare or other highly regulated industries
  • Expertise in managing budgets to develop and measure effective programs for demand generation, customer acquisition funnel and performance marketing
  • Strong working knowledge of all metrics that measure marketing effectiveness (LTV, CAC, Churn, CPA, attribution models, average customer spend, ROAS, other customer-focused metrics, etc.) Habitually leverage metrics and data to drive decision making
  • High proficiency in marketing automation systems
  • Comprehensive marketing expertise and leadership experience spanning across growth marketing, performance marketing, lifecycle marketing, etc
  • A track record of building and leading a premier performance-based marketing operation, with positive references regarding that experience from the C-suite, peers, and team members
  • Excellent communication and people management skills. Outstanding mentorship experience, particularly with intersectional and diverse teams
  • A strong, proven track record of leading through a growth mindset, and helping others go beyond current capabilities
  • Excellent analytical, persuasion and listening skills
