Job Summary

Amgen's 10 - 12 week internship program offers meaningful project experiences that impact patient's lives. This internship provides the opportunity for executive and social networking events and to participate in community volunteer projects while providing a competitive compensation.

Limited relocation housing and/or transportation allowance may be available for eligible candidates OR Relocation in the form of a transportation allowance will be provided for eligible candidates.

Amgen Treasury interns will rotate through and assist Corporate Treasury's Capital Markets, Cash Management and Customer Finance teams. Projects may include, but are not limited to:
  • Assist Capital Markets with a hedging forecast, foreign exchange trading day and reporting cycle. Gain exposure to foreign currency, hedging and managing a corporation's investment portfolio. Participation in preparing a financial model for FX exposures.
  • Assist the US Cash Management team with the cash forecast and reconciliation process. The student will be introduced to and participate in building a direct cash flow method forecast and reporting to our Treasurer.
  • Assist Customer Finance team with quarterly financial analysis and presentation for major wholesale customers. Obtain a general understanding of the revenue cycle for US Trade business by assisting with weekly and monthly reporting.


Basic Qualifications

Amgen requires that all individuals applying for an undergraduate internship or an undergraduate co-op assignment at Amgen must meet the following criteria:

  • 18 years or older
  • Currently enrolled in a full time Bachelor's Degree program from an accredited college or university with a 3.0 minimum GPA or equivalent
  • Completion of one year of study from an accredited college or university prior to the internship commencing
  • Enrolled in a full time Bachelor's degree program following the potential internship or co-op assignment with an accredited college or university
  • Must not be employed at the time the internship starts
  • Possess U.S. citizenship, permanent legal residence, or unrestricted work authorization in the U.S.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree with a concentration in Business Administration or Finance
  • Ability to thrive in a high-performance culture
  • Excellent oral/written communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent time management, decision-making and organizational skills
  • Ability to think critically, actively anticipate problems and propose solutions and to work effectively/collaboratively across teams, levels of management, across partnerships, use contact network to motivate diverse teams, and enable cross-functional collaborations
  • Ability to work independently and with ambiguity
  • Strong computer skills; strong technical use of Microsoft Suite and advanced Excel
  • General understanding of financial terms and ratios
