JOB SUMMARY:

To promote the mission of PATH to help individuals achieve a more independent and fulfilling life by being an effective Training team member. Conduct regular staff training presentations for adults in classroom and/or webinar/video conference setting on various health, safety, and human services topics. Facilitate activities, skill sessions, and discussions; provide coaching and feedback to training participants; and provide leadership and management of the classroom. Learn and facilitate standard curricula to groups. Ensure diversity/equity/inclusion lens in all training content and provision of training. Handle all A/V equipment in training room. Greet and assist guest speakers with equipment needs/set up. Assist in producing training handouts and power point presentations. Write articles for agency newsletter as needed. Assist with agency Inservice Committee. Assist with monitoring provision of required training.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Must be able to perform physical demands of training, such as standing for several hours when conducting training, and bending/lifting/kneeling associated with CPR, Back Safety, and training set up, such as moving tables/chairs/mats in the classroom.


QUAALIFICATIONS:

Bachelors degree in Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, Adult Education, or related field; Experience in public speaking, group facilitation or adult education required. Experience in intellectual disabilities/behavioral health field preferred; Driver's License and personal vehicle; Good computer skills required in Microsoft Office, including Word and Power Point. Comfortable presenting to groups using Zoom or similar. Ability to use Publisher and Excel preferred. Ability to use Articulate Storyline a plus; Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to apply diversity/equity/inclusion lens to all training content and in provision of training. Good organizational skills required. Attention to detail.


SPECIFIC DUTIES:

  1. Obtain and maintain required training certifications (e.g. CPR, First Aid, Crisis Management, Medication Administration, Fire Safety, etc.).
  2. Learn and develop new curricula and facilitate training.
  3. Conduct ongoing staff training, facilitating activities, skill sessions, and discussions.
  4. Provide coaching and feedback to training participants.
  5. Provide leadership and management of the classroom.
  6. Be proficient in and serve as back up to other trainers for all ongoing training offered.
  7. Assist in tracking staff attendance at training.
  8. Serve as back up to LMS Coordinator by assisting in identifying staff in need of training; scheduling of training and creation of class rosters; and tracking training cancellations.
  9. Assist department supervisors with questions related to scheduling staff/training due.
  10. Assist in development of monthly training calendars.
  11. Assist with agency In-service Committee, such as attending meetings, taking minutes, and assisting with follow-up actions as needed/assigned.
  12. Compose articles/content for agency newsletter upon request.
  13. Be proficient in using all Training Room/Department audio-visual equipment. Assist staff with use as necessary.
  14. Apprise Supervisor of any training issues identified during facilitation of classes, including testing issues.
  15. Assist with maintaining training room equipment/supplies.
  16. Develop and maintain computer skills, including Learning Management and eLearning software.
  17. Maintain knowledge of behavioral health/intellectual disabilities issues through ongoing staff development opportunities, reading, and research.
  18. Assist with development/revision of training handouts/materials as requested.
  19. Assist with development/revision of Power Point presentations to correspond with curricula.
  20. Assist with revision of training curricula, as assigned.
  21. Assist with scheduling external speakers.
  22. Greet and assist guest speakers with equipment needs/set up.
  23. Serve as back up to Training Assistant for set up and organization of training room before and after trainings.
  24. Enter data into American Red Cross system and distribute CPR, First Aid, and AED cards to staff upon completion of course.
  25. Lead group Memory Shares via standard curriculum for staff after the loss of an individual in their program
