As part of a critical, large-scale multi-year initiative to unlock the potential of data generated from Amgen's past and current research projects, we are seeking a scientific computing and research informatics associate to join our multidisciplinary research team of computational and experimental scientists. In this systems engineering role, will partner with a broad team of scientists to assist in managing, developing and deploying data science and molecular modeling solutions through:
  • Managing scientific computing applications.
  • Collaborating with others to develop and deploy modeling and informatics solutions.
  • Proactively identify gaps, bottlenecks and recommend solutions.


Basic Qualifications:

Master's degree

OR

Bachelor's degree and 2 years of related scientific programming experience

Preferred Qualifications:
  • BS or MS in computer science, engineering, computational sciences (computational chemistry, bio/cheminformatics) or related field.
  • Experience in scientific programming.
  • Experience in scientific software management and deployment.
  • Working proficiency with Linux and other programming tools such as Python, R, C, Pipeline Pilot and SQL.
  • Knowledge of cloud computing such as AWS and Docker.
  • Knowledge of small molecule structures, cheminformatics and molecular modeling.
  • Strong communication skills with an enthusiasm for working with interdisciplinary teams.
