Supply Chain Senior Manager - Medical Device Supply & Raw Materials

What you will do

Let's do this. Let's change the world. In this vital role you will serve as the liaison between Amgen's Global Supply Chain organization and manufacturing site network with several of Amgen's largest suppliers. Holistically, this group focuses on ensuring continuous quality supply of Primary Containers by evaluating supplier capacity and resolving challenges to meeting Amgen's long-term needs. This role will also require you to identify and manage activities to improve Amgen's External Supply Chain business processes, reporting and metrics.

Effective management of high-priority component introductions into Amgen's network is crucial. This is especially true given the continued forecasted growth in Amgen's product portfolio. Establishing positive relationships with both Amgen and supplier sites as well as effectively leading cross-functional team discussions will be key to success.
  • Represent the Supply Chain function in interactions with Primary Container suppliers
  • Partner with suppliers to develop Supply Chain goals, establish timelines, and supervise progress towards completion
  • Ensure continuous quality supply of Primary Containers and quickly address roadblocks
  • Evaluate supplier capacity and resolve challenges to meeting Amgen's long-term Primary Container needs
  • Integrate data from subject matter authorities to quantify changes and or impacts to schedules and plans
  • Develop solutions in collaboration with department subject matter authorities and management to provide reports to business partners
  • Support category teams with data gathering, consolidation, analysis, reporting, and continuous improvement of business processes
  • Manage metrics to improve visibility (lead time, responsiveness, forecast accuracy, timely delivery)
  • Hold key partners accountable for meeting agreed upon supply targets
  • Coordinate with Amgen sites to ensure data accuracy and raise issues as needed

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree and 2 years of Supply Chain experience

OR

Master's degree and 4 years of Supply Chain experience

OR

Bachelor's degree and 6 years of Supply Chain experience

OR

Associate's degree and 10 years of Supply Chain experience

OR

High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Supply Chain experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5 plus years biotech or pharmaceutical operations experience
  • Able to optimally manage workload to timelines
  • Familiarity with basic project management tools
  • Ability to negotiate a strategic position after taking feedback from multiple sources
  • Teammate, self-starter, persistent, tactful, persuasive, independent worker
  • Strong understanding of raw materials and supply chain
  • Ability to adapt to changing supplier and site requirements
  • Strong capability with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) and supply chain planning software (SAP, Rapid Response)
