Student Engage/Activities Specialist - South Campus

Essential Job Functions:
  • Assist with supporting the Student Government Association (SGA).
  • Provide oversight to the campus Food Market program.
  • Assist with general operation of the department, supporting programming for day, evening, and/or weekend hours.
  • Develop and implement marketing efforts to increase the population of students who engage with student life organizations and programs including social media and website updates.
  • Assist with the supervision and coordination of the game room staff and activities.
  • Deliver training to club advisors and student organizations.
  • Deliver student leadership development opportunities.
  • Assist with the coordination of awareness events on campus.
  • Present workshops and programs related to leadership and student organization management.


Additional Job Functions :
  • Assist with the delivery of presentations in the Student Success Courses for first time in college students.
  • Administer and implement assessment programs and surveys at on-campus events to evaluate learning outcomes and best practices.
  • Assist in administering survey assessments at events on campus.
  • Serve as point of contact for the department in the absence of the Coordinator.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :
  • Possess excellent leadership, organizational, and problem solving skills.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Possess exceptional interpersonal, organizational and presentation skills.
  • Ability to promote and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and work well under limited time constraints.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from other departments, external contractors and vendors, groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to include evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multiethnic and multicultural environment with students, faculty, and staff.
  • Possess computer literacy (Outlook and MS Office).

Required Education :
  • Associate Degree or 4 years' experience.

Preferred Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree

Preferred Experience:
  • Two (2) years involvement in college or university student activities.


Salary Grade: 16

Salary is based on the Board-approved salary schedule for the current fiscal year. See Salary Schedule
