POSITION SUMMARY

The Medical Student Coordinator supports the Director of Medical Education by performing administrative duties related to the planning, directing and coordination of both the academic and operational activities of the program.

This position supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts and demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and cooperation.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION: High School diploma required.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:

EXPERIENCE: Minimum 6 years' experience in related field required. Additional education may substitute for experience. Previous hospital experience preferred. Ability to prioritize tasks, maintain deadlines and prepare schedules and instructional materials in hard copy using Microsoft Office Applications required. Excellent communication, writing and/or interpersonal skills are required. Knowledge of medical terminology preferred. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail required. Transcription experience preferred.

PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS

Demonstrates the competencies as established on the Assessment and Evaluation Tool for this position.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position requires reaching, stooping, kneeling, and crouching approximately 25% of the workday. This position also requires frequently lifting, approximately 25-30 pounds. The essential functions for this position are listed on the Assessment and Evaluation Tool.
