General Overview


Rotary International has embarked on a new strategic plan that calls for the organization to increase our impact, expand our reach, enhance participant engagement, and improve our ability to adapt so that Rotary remains a vital, premier organization for global leaders seeking a place to connect and channel their commitment to volunteer service. The StrategyCommunications Account Executive position is a new role needed to help drive innovation and create communications  plans and tools tol drive long-term awareness, understanding and organization-wide adoption of Rotarys strategy, priorities and initiatives. This position is also responsible for collaborating with other communications team members and partners across the organization to develop integrated  communications plans and resources  to  communicate goals and progress of Rotarys strategy, facilitate change management and facilitate long-term implementation of our strategic plan and its initiatives. Target audiences are the primarily 1.2+ million members and other internal audiences, as well as potentially new supporters and collaborators.




The ideal candidate is a proactive, visionary thinker with a demonstrated track record for  synthesizing complex ideas and communicating those concepts to various audiences clearly and compellingly.  You are passionate about your work, able to focus on the big picture, thrive in relationship-based environments, and know how to deliver impactful communications in a global setting. You are strategic in your thinking, creative in your approach and you get things done. You are a strong writer and compelling storyteller. You have an interest in supporting leaders in skills development and have a passion for strengthening communities to create a safer, healthier, more peaceful and equitable world.  You are equally comfortable in fast-paced situations as you are in ones that are more measured in their approach. 


 



You Will Have



  • Minimum BA in Communications, Marketing or related field

  • 5+ years of experience in Programs or related field; non-profit experience preferred




 


You Will Be Responsibilities For



  • Manage outcomes-focused marketing and communications plans that broaden awareness, understanding and adoption of new strategic priorities, goals and key initiatives; creates comprehensive global communications schedules, tools and approaches. Manage content and content marketing for strategic plan on Rotarys internal website.

  • Write and edit compelling content (editorial, instructional, advertorial, motivational) that informs, empowers, and engages audiences in organizational priorities

  • Serve as communications project manager for new strategy-related initiatives and opportunities

  • Partner with Marketing and Corporate Communications groups to develop key messages, status updates, position statements, annual report content, speeches and other materials related to strategic plan initiative

  • Partner with People and Talent and other Communications teams to develop and implement staff and membership-facing change management initiatives

  • Serve as communications team liaison to strategy team, leadership and other critical decision makers to ensure that strategic priorities drive communications goals.

  • Identify and activate internal and external influencers to demonstrate progress and success

  • Identify, manage and report on metrics of success for the plan



 


You Are Good At



  • Superior oral and written communications skills with proven ability to produce compelling, engaging and informative content that reflects a creative and varied writing style

  • The ability to synthesize information quickly, adapting material from various sources into a seamless product

  • Excellent organizational and project management skillsability to multi-task, focus on detail and work with minimal supervision within cross functional teams

  • Very comfortable working through ambiguous tasks

  • Ability to gauge when its necessary to be flexible and when to hold the line in order to drive the best possible results

  • Resourceful, action-oriented and comfortable taking informed risks

  • Ability to use data and research to drive planning and

  • Ability to travel (<10%)

  • Strategic, analytical thinker with demonstrated problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work with design and video production teams to create content
