Description: Job Summary: 

The Strategic Account Manager is accountable for increasing company sales revenues and retaining existing sales revenue in an assigned geography for the Terumo Pharmaceutical Solutions (TPS) team. S\/he will plan, initiate, and direct the contract and sales of assigned product lines to new clients and current accounts.  S\/he will be the key link between TPS and its customers.  Responsible for managing a territory and prospecting\/identifying new opportunities\/market trends to understand customer needs.  The SAM will also provide technical product information to broader teams, including presentations, pricing negotiations, contract negotiations etc. Tracks sales per customer to ensure proper forecasting is given to logistics. Provides marketing\/sales support for meetings, trade shows, exhibits, and other customer events. Performs other administrative responsibilities to manage their given territory and TPS organization. 

Job Details: 
à Collaborate with Management, Sr. SAMÙs, Regulatory, TE, TC, TPC, Technology\/Business Development, and Marketing to determine necessary strategic sales approaches, Technical Document requests etc. 
à Create qualified sales opportunities in the US and follow up on all leads generated via TPS inquiries; call in inquiries and other sources.
à Handle inbound, unsolicited prospect calls\/emails and convert them into opportunities. Additionally, target potential existing accounts and non-purchasing accounts for potential opportunities aligned with TPS activities.
à Maintain and expand the companyÙs database of prospects and sales funnel for TPS.
à Ensure follow-up by passing leads to appropriate division or Account Managers with calls-to-action, dates, complete profile information, sources, etc.
à Set up and send out sales presentations, product samples, and other sales actions.
à Support RFI and RFP responses to potential clients. Work with management and other technical managers to gather sufficient data to respond to RFI. 
à Where necessary, support marketing efforts such as, meetings, trade shows, exhibits, and other events.
à Make outbound follow-up calls to existing customers via telephone and e-mail regarding purchase orders, forecasts, order status and related activities. Additionally, work with TE, TPC and TC associates to inquire on order\/product\/project status, including Supply Agreements, Quality Agreements and Development Agreements.
à Enter new customer data and update changes to existing accounts in the corporate database (CRM system \/Sharepoint)
à Investigate and troubleshoot customer service issues such as order delays, certificate of compliance and certificates of sterility.
à Partner with logistics to determine product estimated delivery dates.
à Onboard new customers with credit applications working with Internal Sales and Customer Service.
à Ensure sales are recognized per acccount aligned with purchase orders in hand and forecasts.
à Collaborate with Technical Services to send required documentation.
à Assist with obtaining agreements from legal in a timely manner.
à Work on special projects such as product, marketing and technical surveys to gather data. Communicate information to Global counterparts to ensure timely information is captured.
à Other duties as may be assigned.

Working Conditions:  

This position exists in an outside sales environment. Frequent overnight travel to customer meetings, conferences and exhibits is required, including occasional weekend travel.
