Summary:
• The Medical Director is responsible for the direction, provision, and quality of Medical services
provided to patients. Leadership, quality assurance, oversight and medical management within
the assigned state are all key elements of the role, including comprehensive, proven compliance
strategies with respect to state and federal regulations and accreditation standards. The
Medical Director will plan, organize the assigned medical practices, as well as direct the
physicians and medical staff while participating in limited direct patient care.
Essential Duties:
• Direct and oversee the quality, efficiency and management of all physician services delivered
across the assigned state
• Provide and document direct medical supervision of all physicians within assigned state
• Participate in regional meetings of executive directors
• Facilitate CARF and state regulatory inspections as directed by regional directors
• Provide training for the Nursing staff
• Assist in developing, implementing and annually reviewing written medical procedures
• Assist with the planning of medical services across assigned state
• Ensure that medical staffing patterns are adequate, and patients receive full continuum of care
by coordinating care with other patient care providers
• Assist in establishing and implementing procedures relating to credentials review, delineation of
qualifications, medical staff appointments and evaluation of medical care.
• Participate in and lead staff orientation and staff education activities in-line with individualized
patient centered care, Pinnacle's harm reduction medical model and evidenced based practices
• Assist in developing and maintaining written job descriptions for the medical staff, participating
in the recruiting, hiring and review of credentials and delineation of privileges of medical staff
members, and assigning duties based upon education, training, competencies, and job
descriptions
• Designate in writing, a physician to act in the absence of the medical director and assuring that
either the medical director or designated physician is available to facility at all times
• Ability to provide triage coverage across the entire continuum of care, as well as provide back up
call coverage as necessary to meet the demands of assigned facilities

• Work in conjunction with the Chief Medical Officer to roll out medical initiatives and outcomes
projects across their respective state
Qualifications:
• Doctoral degree in Medicine (MD or DO)
• Active and in good standing license in assigned state
• Current DEA credentials to prescribe controlled substances without restrictions and per
regulation in assigned state
• Buprenorphine prescribing limit of 275 patients
• Board certification by American Board of Preventative Medicine-ADM or AAAP
• Experience in Addiction Treatment services highly preferred
• If past substance use disorder treatment, remission of symptoms for a period of at least
two years prior to employment
• Previous experience in behavioral health and/or substance abuse treatment preferred
