Job Summary

Amgen is seeking a Sr. Associate Finance in the Financial Insights & Technology (FIT) team within Amgen's Corporate Finance group. This position reports to the FIT Reporting & Analytics Team's finance manager.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • gaining familiarity with reporting/analysis done by finance groups and business partners
  • identifying where FIT can help relieve these groups of manual and ad-hoc approaches to reporting that FIT can replace/replicate/improve upon with its enterprise-grade data process and Tableau reporting capabilities (especially where there are broad use cases)
  • project managing the development of Tableau dashboards and underlying dataset creation/augmentation
  • working with finance/business partners to test, roll-out and train on the new reporting
  • ability to manage reporting and data projects from upfront ideation/requirements-gathering, through development, implementation and training customers.

The client-facing element of the job is especially important, given this role's success rests on networking with potential internal clients to understand their needs, promoting the FIT team's offerings/services in a roadshow-like capacity to influence adoption and providing regular, engaging, extensive training opportunities to empower the users of FIT tools.

This position will continue to drive the FIT team's standardization agenda where possible: encouraging that planning and actuals entries to be done correctly, consistently and timely in agreed-upon systems of record, that financial calculations be done consistently across the organization as much as possible, and to generally push finance and business partner groups towards standardized, centralized and automated reporting where time-consuming, manual reporting approaches can be replaced.

Basic Qualifications

OR

Bachelor's degree and 2 years of directly related experience

OR
