Amgen is seeking a multi-dimensional Specialist Information Systems (IS) Scrum Master and Business System Analyst to lead projects and run operations for the Enterprise Benchtop team at Amgen, which sits within the Research & Medical Informatics (R & MI) organization. The Enterprise Benchtop team executes projects in the areas of lab data management and lab asset management. The team also and supports Amgen's scientists and lab operations teams.

The Enterprise Benchtop Team consists of 11 team members supporting lab IT at Amgen across multiple sites. Our mission is to ensure lab IT assets and data is secure, robust, scalable, and cost-efficient. We are accountable for cyber resiliency, instrument computers, IT asset inventory, data protection, and enterprise solutions to support lab operations globally for Research and Process Development.

You will focus on managing our teams projects and run operations using Agile and Kanban methodologies. In addition, this role will also provide opportunities for business analysis.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Organize and lead large and small projects using Agile methodologies, includes Scrum Master responsibilities. Leading the team through user-story creation, backlog grooming, story estimation, Sprint execution, Sprint retrospectives, and all other aspects of running an Agile project.
  • Work with the end-users to identify, document, and manage user acceptance tests for IT solutions using Agile approaches such as user-stories and backlog grooming.
  • Work with the team to organize and manage run operations using Kanban.
  • Work with the Enterprise Benchtop leadership to prepare monthly dashboards, run business-sponsor meetings, and project review presentations.
  • Lead large and small projects using Agile methodologies and manage run operations using Kanban.
  • Exposure to the leaders in the business and IS in the form of project sponsor meetings, project reviews, and funding requests.
  • Requirements analysis and refinement for critical problems impacting enterprise lab operations, lab data management, and lab asset management
  • Work with scientists, software engineers, and system administrators to provide solutions to contribute to Amgen's lab productivity.
  • Interaction with other Scrum Masters / Business analysts across Amgen.
  • Manage the evaluation of new IT solutions based on observed pain-points while working with lab scientists, members lab operations groups, and the Enterprise Benchtop team


Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree

OR

Master's degree and 3 years of Information Systems experience

OR

Bachelor's degree and 5 years of Information Systems experience

OR

Associate's degree and 10 years of Information Systems experience

OR

High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Information Systems experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in leading teams developing IS solutions using Agile/Scrum and Kanban methodologies. Must include actual experience conducting backlog grooming, sprint planning, sprint retrospectives, and scrum meetings.
  • Experience working with end-users to write and prioritize requirements represented as user-stories.
  • Experience preparing project reviews and providing executive-level project summaries.
  • Good technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Good project management, meeting facilitation, negotiation, planning, and organizational change management skills
  • Able to manage activities across multiple projects simultaneously
  • Results oriented with strong consistency to meeting delivery timelines
  • Good great teammate who can collaborate and provide leadership through influence to achieve the required results
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to set the context and present on complex subjects in clear and concise manner
  • High learning agility, innovation, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to master new technologies and processes with minimal support
