Amgen is seeking a technical architect to join our growing Global ERP (SAP) team based at the Amgen Capability Center in Tampa. This role provides technical leadership in evaluating and selecting infrastructure, application, and security standards for Amgen's Global ERP solutions in a 24X7 regulated environment.

The SAP Technical Architect collaboratively develops roadmaps, articulates solutions, advocates architectural concepts, recommends and implements the underlying technical foundations (compute, storage, network and cloud) for a robust, scalable and secure SAP solutions considering future growth assessments of Global ERP platform.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and design the future state architecture of Global ERP platform following best practices for SAP, infrastructure, and cloud technologies
  • Engage and interact with vendors to assess and develop roadmaps, reference architectures, and technology strategies for Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) and Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) ERP solutions
  • Review and approve technical solutions based on established architecture guidelines, compliance requirements, and approved Global ERP roadmap
  • Work in teams to evaluate and recommend technologies and solutions to meet business requirements
  • Perform and guide others in performing installations, applying support packs, kernel updates, and HANA revisions
  • Administer SAP and HANA systems leveraging tools such as HANA Cockpit and LaMa
  • Communicate effectively with senior leadership


Basic Qualifications

Doctorate degree

OR

Master's degree and 2 years of Information Systems experience

OR

Bachelor's degree and 4 years of Information Systems experience

OR

Associate's degree and 10 years of Information Systems experience

OR

High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Information Systems experience

Preferred Qualifications
  • 2 plus years of experience in developing highly available system architectures for ERP solutions, both on-premise and cloud
  • 8 plus years of extensive hands-on Basis experience with at least 3 full lifecycle implementations of SAP solutions
  • Ability to transform business requirements into technical architecture, approach, or solution and expertise in writing system design documents for validated systems
  • Leads migration of existing on-premise ERP solutions to S/4 HANA including third party products
  • Experience in defining and implementing system refresh strategies leveraging TDMS for client copies and LaMa for homogeneous system copies
  • Proven experience with implementing, maintaining, and upgrading SAP systems, including monitoring and optimizing them for high performance
  • Experience with SAP S/4 HANA and SAP Cloud Platform is highly preferred
  • Understanding of Agile and DevOps methodologies
  • Previous work experience within a regulated environment is a plus
  • Good interpersonal, written and team collaboration skills
