Current: 3 Crews / 3 Shifts Rotation (7A-3P, 11P-7A, 3P-11P)

Rotation changes every Sunday. Schedule Days off are posted about 2 weeks in advance but are subject to changed based on business needs.


The Shift Supervisors responsibility is to manage the people and assets under his/her direct control to maximize profits and minimize liabilities. This will be accomplished by managing the production process to: Ensure the Safety of our employee. Manage the production process such that all product produced meets or exceeds customer requirements, and Production rates are consistently maximized.


The Supervisor is responsible for establishing a safe work environment and ensuring delivery of quality products as outlined in the production schedule within standard cost. This is accomplished by motivating and directing the activities of hourly personnel and working with operations support team members to ensure customer service levels and quality expectations are met. The Supervisor needs to drive the continuous improvement efforts and promote pride, respect, and teamwork.

  • The Supervisor needs to be highly motivated and energetic to drive their team towards being a self-directed workforce. They lead the coordination of activities with team members to support company objectives and monitor performance goals taking corrective action, as appropriate.
  • The Supervisor must support the mill's journey of continuous improvement. They must be able to learn, understand, and teach the Lean tools being utilized. Previous Lean experience is a plus. Experience with the Panther system is a plus.
  • Supports the Mill Safety Program completely. The Supervisor must be fully involved in the safety culture and drive the team towards an incident free workplace.
  • Ensures the timely completion of the production schedule while meeting or exceeding target productivity and cost metrics
  • Needs to be highly motivated and energetic providing leadership, technical support and training to guide changes to plant process and procedures in order to reduce process variability, improve product performance in customer plants, reduce manufacturing costs and improve operating
  • Facilitate the continuous improvement process by which projects and activities are identified, defined, developed and prioritized. Responsibilities include facilitating meetings, evaluating recommendations, planning and facilitating the implementation of changes, tracking activities and reporting progress.
  • Participate in downtime maintenance and readiness planning and project management activities
  • Develop and maintain materials and processes related to stock preparation, including refining, wet end, sheet pressing and drying.
  • Train production employees in analytical problem solving and decision-making techniques when applicable to their job duties.

  • 3-5 years of previous supervisory skills preferred in a manufacturing environment, specifically papermaking processes.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to influence and lead people
  • Good organizational skills and written and oral communication skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite specially Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Process improvement knowledge in a manufacturing environment: Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, etc., to drive operational excellence system is a plus.
  • Ability to efficiently multi-task and meet/supersede stated objectives.
  • Proficiency in data analysis a must.
  • College degree a plus, but position requires a High School Diploma or Equivalent with similar experience.
