Senior Technical Writer APIs

We are actively looking for an passionate and detail-oriented technical writer to join our Customer Documentation team to develop high-quality API and SDK documentation. Five9 is a high-energy Agile software development environment. This is a full-time position.

Responsibilities:

Coordinate documentation specifications and design with product management and product development.

Manage all aspects of API documentation projects from estimation to delivery.

Collaborate with SMEs to proactively gather required information.

Create and maintain high-quality reference guides and code examples.

Learn and use the Five9 software of assigned products.

Ensure that deliverables conform to the company style.

Qualifications:

Proven experience in documenting REST APIs and SDKs, influencing API design, and writing code examples to validate API documentation.

Extensive portfolio of superior writing examples that you are prepared to discuss.

Proven self-starter capable of using the Five9 software and researching content.

Experience with HTML, CSS, Java, JavaScript.

Proven expertise in working with MadCap Flare, Acrobat, Jira, and GitLab.

Excellent ability to estimate documentation projects and meet demanding deadlines in an Agile software development environment.

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Excellent ability to explain complex technical ideas in terms appropriate for the audience.

Proven technical, writing, and oral communication expertise.

Experience with contact center technology, hosted software products, and VoIP are a plus.

5+ years of experience as a software technical writer.

Bachelors degree or equivalent.
