About the position:
The Senior Program Manager will be a member ofadynamic JFF team working tofundamentally change existing systems and re-imagine new ways for peopletoadvance economically with a lens on equity. The Senior Program Manager will be assigned to work that leverages their skillset across the breadth of JFFs units, programs and projects. The Senior Program Manager will work in collaboration with JFF staff and external partners on projects that supportstate, regional, and local leadersrepresenting K-12 and postsecondary education, workforce development, state and local government, business and industry, and community-based organizationsto design, strengthen, and scale solutions that create equitable conditionsandclear pathsto economic advancementfor all.Examples of the work our team engages in can be found through exploringthe Impact Stories on our website.

TheSenior ProgramManagerwill workcollaboratively with others across JFFto support our effortsto:

  • Help People Advance: We partner with systems, organizations, and leaders to equip individuals with the knowledge, tools, and experiences they need to achieve economic advancement. We emphasize equity and pay particular attention to people and communities that have historically been denied opportunity.
  • Build Inclusive Regional Economies: We coordinate across sectors to increase opportunity for economic advancement in communities, regions, and states and produce sustainable economic growth for all. We support leaders efforts to improve and connect economic and educational strategies, with a focus on equity and inclusion.
  • Redesign Education & Workforce Development Systems: We transform existing models and systems and design new ones to dismantle inequities and better serve the needs of all workers, learners, and businesses. We accelerate innovation to reimagine education and the future of work.

What you'll do:

Program Management

  • Manage timelines, workflow, communications, production of deliverables, and other aspects of project implementation
  • Partner with project leaders to monitor and evaluate project plans, tasks, resources, deadlines, and any post-project needs to accomplish project goals

Strategic and Analytical Thinking

  • Support and participate in the design and delivery oftechnicalassistance to partners, project staff,fundersand other stakeholders to help them achieve their goals
  • Conductprimary and secondary research to yield insights for the field and inform recommendations for future action
  • Identify and analyze best practicesand learnings from projects to share across JFF


  • Prepare and present a variety of deliverables such asmemos, reports, tools, case studies, and talking points
  • Communicateeffectively and professionally in public forums with colleagues regarding activities and outcomes of programs
  • Synthesize and share relevant findings with a wide range of audiences

Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain effective relationships with external stakeholders to support ongoing collaboration
  • Organize and facilitate meetings of diverse stakeholders both externally and across JFF (e.g. peer-learning meetings,technicalassistance workshops, site visits, or program/policy research meetings)
  • Quickly build trust and rapport with JFF colleagues

Who you are:

  • You have at least 5-7 yearsof progressivelyresponsible experienceinan education, workforce, economic development, or other relevant setting
  • You are a strong project manager with a proven track record of leading large, complex projects that include deliverables for several constituencies at once
  • You are a dynamic facilitator who knows how to design and lead meetings, convenings, and other engagements that will influence senior-level executives and decision-makers
  • You are an excellentwriter, speaker, and presenter,withthe ability to synthesize and communicate complex issues to a variety of audiences
  • You are creative, resourceful, and flexible; you enjoy jumping into new projects and know how to build subject matter expertise and credibility quickly
  • You thrive in a fast-paced environment and can seamlessly pivot between being an individual contributor and working in close collaboration others
  • You possess high energy and passion for JFFs missionand an ability to apply JFFscore valuesto all areas of your work
  • You model inclusive leadership, working effectively with diverse staff, and building and stewarding an organizational culture that embracesdiversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Youbuildpositive, effective, collaborative cultures and teams wherever you work
  • You are acuriousand adaptivelearner,with a willingness to take innew information, perspectives,and data to informyour work
  • You demonstrate a growth mindsetanddesiretocontinuously improve in your workand approach
  • You are able and willing to travel up to 30%(The frequency will vary according to mix of projects. Note: JFF staff are not currently traveling due to COVID-19 restrictions and to prioritize the health and safety of our staff.)
