Description:

The Senior Mechanical Inspector provides inspection support to the Maintenance & Reliability Organizations at Oyster Creek and Seadrift. Some elements of this position include performing and managing inspections of existing pipes, vessels, tanks and pressure relief devices, as well to provide QA/QC oversight for repairs and new fabrication. Additionally, this position provides counseling and guidance on regulatory requirements for fixed equipment issues.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Lead Inspection / Mechanical Integrity Programs with a focus on plant safety, environmental and reliability excellence, and day-to-day management of plant inspection programs
  • Develop repair scopes that increase equipment life cycle value and maintain integrity
  • Manage the QA/QC activities on new construction and repair projects

  • Participate in equipment/system Root Cause Analyses related to fixed equipment incidents to improve system reliability and prevent recurrence.
  • Assist with training appropriate personnel on Mechanical Integrity Inspection Programs.
  • Responsible for managing data with complete understanding of upcoming inspection schedule, and communicating the inspection schedule to the appropriate Production and Maintenance members
  • Responsible for tracking status of inspection recommendations, for managing any additional inspection resources, for conducting existing equipment inspections, and for collecting data per the applicable industry standards.
  • Responsible for reviewing Management of Change documentation.
  • Conduct audits of local contractor and suppliers to ensure compliance with Industry and Braskem Standards.
  • Participate in weekly plant maintenance meetings where repair and inspection backlog is discussed.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma required
  • 7+ years of experience in the chemical, petrochemical or refining industry in the field of fixed equipment inspection.
  • Must have Level II NDT certifications in UT, PT and VT or the necessary experience to test for those certifications.
  • Must have experience with the following codes; API 510 (certification required), API 570 (certification required), API 653 (certification preferred), ASME Sections I, V, VIII, IX, B31.3
  • Needed skills include: good organization skills, solid computer skills, good communication skills, good interpersonal skills, an ability to interact with all levels of the organization, computer skills
  • Must be a self-starter and have high standards.
  • Must be able to climb high structures and enter confined spaces

Must be currently eligible to work in the United States without the need for any type of sponsorship.
