Senior Manager, Microsoft Applications and Integrations (Hybrid & Remote)

Position Overview

This is an exciting opportunity to lead a team working on evolving technology at Pew!

As the Senior Manager, Microsoft Applications and Integrations, you will be the product owner for Microsoft 365 (M365) and will be responsible for defining and implementing the strategy for Pew's Microsoft and SharePoint platforms, including custom applications and integrations between enterprise systems.

You'll define a plan for leveraging the M365 suite by:

define standard toolsets,

reduce shadow IT and duplicative tools, and

consolidate technology and costs.

This position requires significant use of initiative and judgment managing staff, overseeing operations and projects, and managing stakeholders, external consultants, and vendors.

You will report to the Project Director, Application Operations, and are eligible for up to 100% telework/Remote.


  • Leads development of the strategy and roadmap for M365 in collaboration with IT leadership and stakeholders.

  • Ensures continued alignment of the M365 suite roadmap to Pew's business needs through collaboration, effective relationships, and a thorough understanding of Pew's work.

  • Builds strong relationships across all levels of the organization, within IT, and with key internal stakeholders.

  • Acts as an advocate for the user communities and expertly balances their needs with IT governance and other objectives.

  • Collaborates throughout IT ensuring execution of overall roadmap. Ensures that solution architectures align with privacy principles through close collaboration with Pew's security team. Collaborate closely with teams who manage other portions of M365.

  • Manages staff and vendors supporting Microsoft applications such as SharePoint, portions of M365, custom applications, and integrations.

  • Creates opportunities for staff to improve skills and technical knowledge by planning relevant training, offering coaching, mentoring, and ongoing feedback on progress and performance.

  • Supports the Project Director, Application Operations to establish and manage annual plans and budgets.

  • Other duties as assigned.


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.

  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience focusing on Microsoft technology and cloud-based applications, such as SharePoint and M365.

  • A minimum of 3 years direct supervisory experience including performance management. Experience influencing stakeholders, team members, and cross-functional teams without formal authority.

  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to evaluate options based on relevant information, experience, and knowledge, as well as discussing complex technical issues in business terms applicable to Pew.

  • Experience leading development teams or traditional project teams through planning, execution, and adoption. Experience with agile scrum framework is preferred.

  • Experience managing third party vendors and service providers, identifying appropriate SLAs and performance metrics, and ensuring that delivered services meet expectation preferred.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills: must be able to develop and propose solutions in a clear, concise, well-organized manner. Demonstrated strong interpersonal relationship building skills.


This position requires quarterly travel to Pew's Washington DC office.
