Description: Under guidelines and objectives set out as part of optimizing the delivery, cost and quality of care in the cardiac cath lab, peripheral lab, IR, INR, CVOR and vascular labs, provides care pathway management and direction to conducting on-site clinical, economic and quality review as part of a an assessments, and when agreed upon, implementations of care pathways when and where identified.  Experience and expertise to include procedural knowledge, admissions, recovery, discharge and management of patients undergoing endovascular cardiac, visceral or peripheral procedures, CVOR, vascular grafts, and other such areas of interest identified by Terumo.  Knowledge of hospital processes and guidelines as it relates to the flow, management and successful migration of a patient through the afore mentioned care pathway as well as the interaction, roles and responsibilities of the administrative, nursing, technical and medical staff will be utilized to provide care pathway consultation to hospitals.
Provides management and direction to a team of HCPs carrying out assessments or implementations in a highly specific procedural and care pathway clinical environment.    Necessary to interact and collaborate with team members from the business, corporate accounts, clinical, education, marketing and sales teams of Terumo Interventional Systems, Terumo Cardiovascular, Terumo Aortic, MicroVentions and BCT Terumo to bring about successful care pathway modification and improvements which will lead to care pathway optimization, improved operational efficiencies, cost avoidance, patient throughput and improved patient experiences within the targeted hospital environment.
Responsible for interacting across a broad spectrum of hospital stakeholders to include admissions, nursing, cath lab staff, OR staff, physician providers, scheduling, lab, service line managers, senior administrators and finance, to insure that the desired outcomes necessary to achieve care pathway modification are met utilizing the tools, practices, suggestions and methods outlined in the care pathway blueprint.  Insures the appropriate and necessary observation and measurement of desired changes are facilitated and achieved in a collegial and professional manner and represent Terumo in the highest regard.
 
Job Details:
  1. The position reports directly to the Vice President of Terumo Business Edge.
  2. Collaborate and explore with the business unit specific areas where care pathway optimization can be leveraged to bring greater value to client hospitals.
  3. Using your knowledge and expertise of the healthcare system, provide input and contribute to leadership as to the greater understanding of how Terumo can provide value to our customers
  4. Responsible for hiring, coaching, and managing a team of highly skilled HCPs that are responsible for carrying out the designated care pathway optimization objectives.
  5. Working with a dedicated team of care pathway specialists, manages, directs and insures the goals and objectives for an assessment or implementation are met.
  6. Works closely with the local Terumo sales and corporate accounts team to ensure that TerumoÙs best interests are met.
  7. Interact specifically with the hospital personnel called out in the project charter thus maximizing and ensuring that TerumoÙs reputation is of the highest order
  8. Continue to explore and develop new and innovative ways in which the care pathway team can bring greater value to hospitals and hospital systems through our offerings
  9. Demonstrate sound working knowledge and expertise of all specific care pathway components (admissions, peri-procedural care, recovery, discharge), with an ability to adapt and adopt working knowledge of additional or missing components
  10. Demonstrate professional and consultative demeanor and interactions at all times with client hospitals and Terumo staff
  11. Develop working knowledge of Terumo products as well their value proposition in the care pathway application.   
  12. Demonstrate a commitment to patient safety and product quality by maintaining compliance with all TMC Quality Systems requirements. This includes but is not limited to the prompt recognition and forwarding of customer complaints (i.e. adverse events, product performance reports, etc.) to Quality Assurance (QA), and by ensuring all promotional messaging (i.e. branding strategies, product claims, etc.) and materials (i.e. literature) discussed or presented to customers are clinically accurate and adhere to AdvaMed guidelines and TerumoÙs policy on Interactions with Healthcare Professionals.  Maintain strong knowledge of and adherence to regulations regarding promotional material content and control. Follow procedures for good clinical practices and Design Control when participating in new product development and clinical activities. Fully adhere to all applicable FDA regulations, international guidelines and TerumoÙs policies at all times.
  13. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.Working Conditions: 
    1. This is a field-based position. Travel is expected. Associate is expected to be on site at the contracted hospital for one, or as many as several consecutive days. May require multiple trips to a facility.  Travel may be anywhere throughout the 50 states.
    2. Daily entry to hospitals and other medical facilities is required. Many facilities have instituted vendor credentialing policies which require vendors to meet defined training, background check and proof of immunization requirements as a condition of entry. Terumo Associates entering these facilities are required to abide by these credentialing requirements.
    3. Must be able to gain access to and work in the IR suite, cath lab, vascular labs and operating room. Entry into these areas requires an ability to wear appropriate gowning, stand for long periods of time, comply with hospital policy\/protocol and be aware of potential biohazards such as blood borne pathogens.
