Position Summary:

Directs and oversees the HCP marketing strategy, the team managing execution across the HCP Professional and LTC marketing work-streams, tactical plans and activities that drive brand commercialization to HCPs across all marketing channels. This role is both an individual contributor and leadership role combined into one.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Leads the brand strategy and message evolution in collaboration with the team across the NS and LTC parts of the business.
  • Guides the development of differentiating brand messages forParkinsons Disease Psychosis and drives consistency in messaging to HCPs across all brand activities.
  • Lead the HCP Market Preparation and Launch Readiness efforts for future indications.
  • Works collaboratively with medical affairs to identify opportunities to acquire and leverage new data that can be used in a promotional setting.
  • Overseas the development of promotional materials to execute brand strategy across all marketing channels to HCPs.
  • Functions as both an individual contributor and leader of the HCP marketing team within the brand team.
  • Drives and project manages the brand planning process cross-functionally across the organization for both strategic development and the building of tactical plans with associated financials.
  • Responsible for the development and management of the US HCP promotions budget inclusive of the individual budgets of all direct reports.
  • Oversees market analysis, monitors competitive activity, and identifies customer needs.
  • Measures the impact of brand marketing activities on a continual basis and adjusts course where appropriate.
  • Interprets and translates scientific clinical data and market research insights into commercial strategy.
  • Oversees management of our HCP peer to peer strategy as well as execution. Partners with sales training and the sales leadership and managed markets team to optimize the development and utilization of promotional materials for roll out at sales meetings.
  • Builds and develops strong relationships with commercial field leadership.
  • Responsible for strategic development and execution oversight of marketing specific activities related to medical conventions, exhibits and trade shows. Ensures that all Medical Legal Review (MLR) processes are followed and all HCP tactics are compliant with legal guidance and corporate policies.
  • Develops and delivers presentations as needed to commercial management and other internal groups.
  • Represents the HCP professional function within ACADIA.
  • Develops strong external relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and drives KOL strategy for the brand for disease areas.
  • Manages commercial ad boards and collaborates with medical on all advisory board activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience/Skills:

Bachelors degree in marketing, health care, business administration or related or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be considered. MBA with emphasis in Marketing, Brand Management, Healthcare marketing or Market Research strongly preferred. A minimum of 15 years of progressively responsible experience and advancement within pharmaceutical or biotech industry. A minimum of 5 years in a leadership role required. Neurology therapeutic experience preferred but not required.

Must possess:

  • Recent blockbuster brand experience, launch experience or major new indication launch experience.
  • Strong Biopharmaceutical brand management experience and demonstrated multi-channel tactical expertise.
  • Experience interfacing with medical affairs.
  • Experience in recruiting, building, developing and leading a team.
  • Ability to work successfully in a dynamic, fast paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Negotiating skills, specifically with business partners or management and influencing senior level leaders regarding matters of significance to the organization.
  • Proficiency at creating and communicating a clear vision among team members effectively aligning resources and activities to achieve functional area and/or organizational goals.
  • Ability to travel up to 40% of time

Establishes strategic plans for designated function(s) and may participate with senior management to align objectives across the organization. Develops methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for projects, programs, and people. Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth knowledge of functional area and related organizational objectives. Erroneous decisions will have a serious impact on the overall success of functional area and may impact the long term success of the company.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, see, talk or hear in a standard office environment and independently from remote locations. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Ability to travel by car or airplane independently overnight up to 40% of the time and work after hours if required by travel schedule or business issues.
