Orrick currently has an excellent opportunity for a Senior Business Analyst in our Information Technology department. This position will be located at our Global Operations Center in Wheeling, WV office.

Our GOC in Wheeling, West Virginia, is home to more than 300 members. Established more than a decade ago, it was the first centralized administrative operation in a major law firm. Our GOC location is within commuting distance of the greater Pittsburgh area and Ohio Valley, including: Pittsburgh, Carnegie, Moon, Robinson, Cranberry, Green Tree, Mt. Lebanon, Bethel Park, Southpointe, Bridgeville, McKees Rocks, Upper St. Clair, McMurray, Canonsburg and Washington; St. Clairsville, New Martinsville, Cambridge and the Weirton-Steubenville metro area.



What responsibilities will you have? As a Senior Business Analyst, you will define, participate in and continuously improve the processes for gathering, reviewing, analyzing, and summarizing business requirements into easy to understand user stories or requirement documents for our Information Technology team members. You will need to have, or gain, a working knowledge of multiple business systems to effectively drive business requirements towards the most effective and efficient business system. You will be expected to develop, accumulate, and organize content for a variety of IT initiatives, work independently on a broad range of projects, and participate in cross-functional teams.

  • Lead team of business analysts in the development or adoption and implementation of best of breed practices for business analysis.
  • Lead team of business analysts in the development or adoption and implementation of best of breed practices performing functional, regression, user acceptance and other related types of testing.
  • Provide direction and leadership to Business Analyst team on collaborating with all lawyer and staff teams to understand the enterprise problems and goals and to bring innovative solutions to fruition.
  • Evaluating business processes, anticipating requirements, uncovering areas for improvement, and developing and implementing solutions.
  • Mentor more junior business analysts.
  • Employing new and creative communication technologies and methods to ensure lawyers and staff can obtain a more complete understanding of the necessary business systems.
  • Leading ongoing reviews of business processes and developing optimization strategies.
  • Staying up-to-date on the latest process and IT advancements to automate and modernize systems.

  • Conducting meetings and presentations to share ideas and findings.

  • Performing requirements analysis.

  • Performing functional, regression, user acceptance and other related types of testing.

  • Documenting and communicating the results of your efforts.

  • Effectively communicating your insights and plans to cross-functional team members and management.

  • Ensuring solutions meet business needs and requirements.

  • Managing projects, developing project plans, and monitoring performance.

  • Prioritizing initiatives based on business needs and requirements.

  • Serving as a liaison between stakeholders and IT team members.

  • Managing competing resources and priorities.

  • Monitoring deliverables and ensuring timely completion of projects.

  • Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the team.

  • Onsite regular attendance, and punctuality.

  • Other related duties as required.

Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Business Administration, or similar or equivalent work experience

  • IIBA-CBAP, PMI-PBA or equivalent BA Certification preferred

  • Minimum 5-10 years demonstrated business analysis

  • 5-10 years of relevant experience in professional services environment.

  • Working experience with IIBA BABOK or PMI PMBOK

  • Possess experience with information systems in a client service-oriented environment.

  • Strong communication and organization skills.

  • Initiative in working with users, internal teams and third parties.
