Your Role: The Senior Analyst, Financial Planning & Analysis will assist in the planning, maintenance and presentation of the Corporation's financial position, with a specific focus on operating funds. This position provides the opportunity to work closely with NYCEDC Departments, Senior Management and NYCEDC partners to develop and implement the Corporation's financial plan.

Responsibilities:
Under general guidance of the Vice President of Budget, Financial Planning & Analysis, the Senior Analyst's specific duties will include:
  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of NYCEDC's 10-year financial plan.
  • Analyze funding requests from NYCEDC project managers; assist in developing funding strategies for NYCEDC initiatives; monitor approved projects.
  • Assist in the development of financial projections; monitor and present budget-to-actual variance analyses and analyses of budget requests and allocations.
  • Update internal systems with budget information; periodically reconcile project budgets. Work with project teams and the Accounting Department to correct discrepancies.
  • Review project contracts, change orders, amendments and payments for construction, consulting and other services. Determine appropriate funding sources based on the financial plan.
  • Maintain financial data for NYCEDC subsidiaries.
  • Maintain existing and create new and innovative reporting tools to keep Senior Management updated on spending progress, to help determine if the corporation is on track to meet financial targets.
  • Develop briefing materials and reports, utilizing superior written and oral communication skills.
  • Guide project managers through the NYCEDC's various approval processes.
  • Provide expert advice and excellent customer support to the entire corporation on budget-related matters.
  • Conduct special projects as needed and identified by the Budget Director and Vice President.
  • Assist in the preparation of the budgets for the NYC Industrial Development Agency and Build NYC.
  • In-town travel.
  • Other projects and tasks as assigned
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Business, Public Administration, or related field.
  • 3 years of work experience, with a focus on budgeting, forecasting and/or financial analysis.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint. Advanced proficiency with Excel.
  • Experience with accounting software, such as Microsoft Great Plains, QuickBooks and/or MRI.
  • New York City residence is required within 180 days of hire
