Job Responsibilities:

  • Build systems to enable end-to-end technology solutions.
  • Evaluate and utilize ground breaking technologies in the industry to meet scientific business needs.
  • Help shape the technology portfolio through software engineering contributions and the implementation of IS solutions.
  • Review functional and technical designs to identify areas of risk and/or missing requirements.
  • Provide technical write-ups and drawings to promote the proposed solutions
  • Collaborate with the other engineering team members to ensure all services are reliable, maintainable, and well-integrated into existing platforms.
  • Enforce to standard methodologies for testing and designing reusable code.
  • Ensure effective communication between our business partners, technical staff and vendors.


Basic Qualifications

Master's degree

OR

Bachelor's degree and 2 years of related experience

OR

Associate degree and 6 years of directly related experience

Or

High School/ GED and 8 years of directly related experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Life Sciences
  • Experience in Software Engineering and Development
  • Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, highly concurrent programming, and software design patterns
  • Strong learning agility, ability to pick up new technologies
  • Strong experience working with agile methodology & DevOps (Jenkins, JIRA, GitHub) frameworks with successful experience working in a collaborative team environment
  • Experience working with container technologies (e.g., Docker) and developing micro-services
  • Proficiency in software development languages including but not limited to Java, .Net and C#
  • Experience in Cloud (AWS, Databricks platforms) and High Performance Computing (HPC) environments
  • Experience in developing and supporting web applications including familiarity with web technologies, frameworks, and patterns (such as MVC/MVP/MVVM, REST, HTML/CSS and JavaScript/TypeScript)
  • Data analysis and reporting experience by using analytics, visualization and database technologies (PL SQL, Spotfire, Tableau, Python - NumPy, SciPy, Pandas)
  • Expertise with translating business requirements to technical requirements and recommend solutions
  • Experience in relational database fundamentals
  • Experience with software quality methodology
  • Experience in implementing Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS)
  • Knowledge of or experience in Life, Physical or Computational Sciences
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Knowledge of or experience with agile methodology
