In this vital role you will join the Attribute Sciences group within Process Development provides scientific and technical expertise to support development and commercialization of Amgen's pipeline of drug candidates. The department identifies and coordinates the achievement of desired product quality attributes towards target product profiles, develops and applies fit-for-purpose analytical methodologies. This position is an exciting opportunity to be a part of Amgen, the world's leading biotechnology company, to unlock the potential of biology for patients suffering from serious illnesses.
The successful candidate will lead a team within Large Molecule Release Testing (LMRT) lab responsible for a) release and stability testing of early phase Tox and GMP materials using bioassay, immunoassays and qPCR under cGMP regulations, troubleshooting method related issues and method transfer per project timelines. This individual will partner with the development team and other parts of the LMRT to deliver high quality results for lot release and stability testing in a timely and compliant fashion.

Basic Qualifications:
Doctorate degree
OR
Master's degree and 4 years of related scientific experience
OR
Bachelor's degree and 6 years of related scientific experience

- Lead team to complete product release testing, stability testing and its associated activities within defined timeline and with high quality
- Ensure cGMP compliance requirements are met in day to day work
- Provide technical leadership in support of incoming method transfer/qualification, method optimization, troubleshooting method related issues, and investigations
- Generating, analyzing, and critical review of analytical data to support product release and stability, investigations, and regulatory submissions
- Provides training and mentoring to staff
- Managing timelines and resources to delivery to major achievements using methodological approaches
- Drive process improvement initiatives and collaboration with partner organizations

Preferred Qualifications:
- Extensive experiences in bioassay and binding assays used to test diverse modalities including monoclonal, bispecific antibodies, bispecific T-cell engagers ("BiTEs"), and other protein modalities.
- Previous experience managing teams and/or leading projects
- Working experience in GMP environment and familiarity with good documentation practices
- Self-motivated individual who can adhere to timelines and strive for delivering high quality results
- Familiarity with immunoassay and qPCR is a plus
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, attention to details
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
