Overview

Focused on supporting the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Department in the execution and delivery of the ERM Program, in accordance with UNFCU’s methodology. This includes, but is not limited to, risk identifications, risk assessments, risk reporting, and conducting risk training. The position requires partnering with departments in understanding risk profiles and providing guidance with development of risk strategies and mitigating activities. Responsibilities include analyzing risk exposure, along with monitoring and developing risk indicators for reporting to the Risk Management Committee (RMC), Executive Management and the Board.



Responsibilities

  • Administer and manage the risk management system that holds all risk information pertaining to the ERM Department.
  • Conduct and coordinate Risk and Control Self Assessments (RCSA) to document and assess internal controls.
  • Apply analytical thinking and spot opportunities to improve existing processes and control environment.
  • Create, review, and validate controls and procedures to ensure effectiveness and relevance.
  • Develop and monitor risk indicators against thresholds and limits.
  • Monitor internal and external information for identification and assessment of risk.
  • Assist in the independent analysis and production of the Quality Control Analysis reports of mortgages and consumer loans. This may include the review of a sample of mortgage and consumer loan files to ensure compliance with internal guidelines, secondary market and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare presentations for Senior Management related to various risks including credit risk analysis and loan portfolio reviews as required.
  • Provide swift response to Senior Management requests for ad hoc analysis and reporting.
  • Provide administrative support for the ERM Department and Risk Management Committee (RMC), and assist in the process of creating reporting packages, as applicable.
  • Create and update risk reports.
  • Assist and support the management of UNFCU’s Insurance Risk Management Program.
  • Maintain strong inter-departmental relationships for effective risk oversight.
  • Aid and support in providing organization-wide ERM training, as applicable.
  • Stay well informed of industry updates, new regulations, and best practices relating to risk management to ensure that the ERM Program is effective and meets both regulatory expectations and industry benchmarks.
