Position Summary
The Scientist position requires technical and troubleshooting skills to support a variety of R&D biologic functions and current ongoing projects. This position required supporting and leading projects by working on bench.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
- Lead from the bench on various drug discovery and development projects related to inflammatory and non-inflammatory human diseases.
- Perform various formulations studies for drug development programs.
- Drive and generate data to support ongoing drug development and target validation projects.
- Design and execute biological assays to support development programs.
- Perform variety of assays including: ELISA, WB, cell culture, cell-based assays, microscopy-based assays, biochemical and enzymatic assays to support research endeavors.
- Work independently as well as collaborate with others in the R&D department on various projects
- Perform routine activities to maintain cell culture, perform cell-based assays, biochemical assays, and other molecular biology assays
- Update your progress at team meetings as required
- Participate in team discussions and journal clubs
Education
Minimum Required:
- Ph.D. in Biochemistry, cell biology, molecular biology or immunology is required for Scientist I and minimum 3+ years of postdoctoral experience or equivalent industrial experience required for Scientist II
Experience
- Experience in inflammation or non-inflammatory diseases and basic drug discovery projects related to large molecules or biologics
- Hands-on experience in biochemistry and biochemical techniques like ELISA, FACS, qPCR, RT-PCR, SDS-PAGE, NanoString, RNA seq etc.
- Hands-on experience in variety of assays development
- Experience in handling and processing biological samples derived from human or animal tissues for biomarker and activity analysis
- Hands-on experience in mammalian cell culture, skin culture, 3D cell culture modeling, modeling human diseases using primary cell culture or human cell lines
- Experience in immunofluorescence and various imaging techniques
- Prior hands-on experience in Immunohistochemistry (IHC, FISH, CISH etc.) is desired but not required
