Position Purpose

To support “The Serious Illness Health Care Delivery Incubator (Incubator)”, a joint venture between The Dartmouth Institute (TDI) and Dartmouth-Hitchcock (D-H). The purpose of the Incubator is to develop and test health care delivery interventions at D-H to improve serious illness care experience(s) for patients, family members, and providers; ensure alignment between patient's goals and the medical care that they receive; and reduce spending on unnecessary, ineffective, or unwanted interventions and their contributions to financial toxicity. Our goal is to further expand Dartmouth's leadership in health care delivery through design, implementation, and publication of transformational re-design projects that build upon the health policy and clinical practice ideas that our faculty have originated and disseminated internationally. This position works under guidance of TDI faculty and senior staff to implement a range of project activities and will be collaborating with health care and academic professionals from the Dartmouth Community at large.

Key Accountabilities

Key Accountabilities

• Collaborates with the project leadership to support the design and implementation of research project(s)
• Conducts and writes reviews of current literature to stay abreast of field and prepares summaries, drafts of reports, and manuscripts to communicate results and implications of the data analysis
• Prepares presentations and other briefings on research findings and their significance for team and partners
• Contributes to development of project materials, such as white papers, policy briefs, and academic manuscripts
• Assists in writing grant proposals and associated funding reports and in development of research instruments, such as survey questionnaires and interview guides
• Collects, analyzes, and interprets qualitative and/or quantitative data to present findings with tentative conclusions to the principal investigator
• Provides data management support, such as cleaning and validation of primary data and collaborates with TDI analysts to facilitate data management and analysis
• Designs data reports appropriately tailored for various audiences, such as research team, implementation partners, provider organizations, or policy organizations
• Effectively communicates with project partners (e.g., provider organizations, payers, research institutions, etc.) in support of project work
• Maintains and tracks project timelines to ensure timely completion of project deliverables
• Facilitates team meetings and conference calls, including agenda setting and taking minutes
