Loyola University Maryland's Advancement division is seeking an enthusiastic advancement professional to lead the prospect management and research efforts as the Prospect Management Director. The position will lead Advancement prospect management and research efforts including managing a small team, and working directly with fund-raising staff to optimize pipeline and portfolios. The Prospect Management Director is a key member of the Advancement team and is responsible for developing and implementing plans and initiatives to manage and actively increase the entire pipeline of prospects. Overseeing two positions, the Prospect Management Director manages all aspects of Loyola's Prospect Management and Research Office. This position will ensure the prospect management system functions efficiently and effectively, and monitors and overall fundraising efforts in order to make recommendations to maximize cultivation and solicitation of donors.

Specific duties include:

Prospect Management: Oversee all aspects of prospect management to help the University identify prospective donors. Work with fundraising staff to manage prospects and to ensure prospective donors are moved efficiently through the pipeline from qualification to cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship. Incumbent meets regularly with staff to review portfolios, and to discuss prospect assignments and strategy. Manages the prospect management system to ensure data are current and properly coded. Safeguard the confidentiality of donor information at all times.

Prospect Research: Oversee all aspects of Advancement Research. Coordinate and produce research to ensure current biographical and financial information is routed to appropriate University representatives. Identify, research, and analyze new and existing donors and prospects for major gift cultivation and solicitation. Maintain efficient research systems, processes, and policies; ensure protocols are in place, adhere to all legal privacy requirements and ethical standards upheld by regulatory bodies and professional organizations. Oversee data screenings on current and potential donors; analyze and disseminate screening results as required. Maintain familiarity with market leaders in such services to guide contract decisions. Lead the office in the evaluation of new products, services, or processes related to prospect research, and make recommendations on the usage of vendor services to accomplish the goals of the Research Office and the greater Advancement efforts.

Staff Training and Guidance: Develop, facilitate, and schedule routine training sessions on basic research fundamentals and demographic prospect mapping in support of fund-raising efforts. Document and maintain up to date procedures, training manuals, and reference guides.

Provide Leadership for Special Programs and Projects: Contributes to the overall success of the University by assuming primary responsibility for special projects as assigned and performing all other duties and responsibilities as assigned in a timely, thorough, and professional manner. Serve as a resource for fundraising staff. Serve as a resource for trustee affairs office and complete detailed profiles of prospects for Loyola's Board of Trustees as requested.

Event Briefs and Attendance: Maintain close communication with Advancement events staff and other colleagues to be aware of dates, times, and audience of University events with Advancement's involvement. Support event activity with event attendee briefs to University leadership as needed. Attend select Advancement events as needed in support of divisional colleagues.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and 5 8 years of related experience.

Ability to interact effectively and in a professional manner with all colleagues and external contacts.

Ability to prioritize effectively.

Possess traits of good judgment, confidentiality, and discretion in communicating with colleagues and constituents.

Proficient in MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; experience with fundraising database, and prospect management systems.

Ability to be resourceful and independent, but comfortable working within the framework of an integrated advancement program and team-oriented environment.

Familiarity and appreciation of the mission, purpose, and values of Loyola University Maryland.

Excellent research skills with the ability to gather, analyze and synthesize data from a wide variety of sources, and present the resulting information in a clear summary.

Highly developed organizational skills with strong attention to detail.

Strong ability to set priorities and manage workflow to fulfill objectives and meet goals according to deadlines in a high-paced work environment.

Ability to adjust to changing priorities.

Ability to identify and independently solve problems.

Preferred Qualifications:

Strong commitment to accuracy and excellent judgment.
Experience in a university environment and using Blackbaud's suite of database and research tools.
