Description: Position Summary:
The Project Manager position, reporting directly to the Mgr., Project Management or Program Manager is responsible for planning and leading the cross-functional execution of a large or several basic projects within the Terumo Medical Corporation Project Management Office (PMO). The Project Manager is accountable for facilitating the activities of the cross-functional project team members to achieve the overall attainment of project performance, cost, and schedule objectives. The Project Manager will be well-versed in the understanding and use of standard project management tools and techniques and their deployment in a standard stage-gate product development process.

Position Details:
1. Lead the cross-functional execution of a single complex or several basic projects. Typical project types include, but are not limited to, new product development, manufacturing transfers, large equipment procurement, infrastructure upgrades, and manufacturing improvement projects. 2. Manage applicable projects in accordance with Terumo new product development (NPD) process assuring the completion of all design control, business planning, and project management requirements. 3. Understand and facilitate the development of detailed project schedule and resourcing plans to achieve project objectives. 4. Implement appropriate project management tools and techniques to drive project execution, including detailed project planning and scheduling, project budgeting and expense management, and capital equipment expense estimation and justification. 5. Serve as a subject matter expert on the planning and execution of the Product Development and Design Control process. Prepare presentations and formally present project update and reviews to senior management. 6. Plan and lead cross-functional project team meetings and prepare action items and status updates\/minutes for such meetings and reviews. 7. Conduct organizational training on the Terumo NPD development process and project management tools (e.g., Cadence) 8. Lead special projects as assigned by the Mgr., Project Management. 9. Performs other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions:
This position will be located in the Terumo manufacturing facility located in Elkton, MD. The position will perform required duties mainly in an office environment that is co-located with the NPD Laboratory and adjacent to manufacturing operations. Access to hospitals and hospital operating rooms may be required to meet with clinicians and observe relevant clinical procedures associated with new product development activities. Occasional travel to meet with vendors or to Terumo Medical headquarters in New Jersey can be expected.

Candidate Requirements:
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs). To succeed in the Project Manager position, candidates should have possess the following KSAs: o Required: Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated performance in cross-functional project leadership positions.
Required: Strong understanding of project management tools and techniques to include proficiency in MS Project and management of projects within a Stage-Gate process. o Required: Demonstrated leadership of effective project team meetings, reviews and activities. o Preferred: Experience in Voice of Customer (VOC) and the principles of Design for Six Sigma (DFSS). o Preferred: Experience in the development of global Medical Devices in accordance with global regulatory and quality standards and requirements. Background Experience.
The following candidate background experiences are desired: 
BS in Engineering or other related technical field; advanced degree in Engineering or Business Administration preferred. o Program Management Institute (PMI) certification or demonstration of progress towards attainment of PMI certification. o Demonstrated ability to develop Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and translate them into detailed project plans and timelines using MS Project. o Broad understanding of the roles and responsibilities of the cross-functional activities needed to successfully develop and transfer new products to manufacturing and release for commercialization. o Demonstrated application of VOC activities to include field visits and meetings with clinicians to facilitate the development of product requirements. o Member of a cross-functional project team that successfully developed and released a new medical device product to the marketplace. o Demonstrated success in transferring equipment or processes between manufacturing facilities. o Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. o 5 or more years of cross-functional product development or production support and 2-5 years of project management experience in medical devices or similar complexity devices.
