Overview

World Wildlife Fund (WWF), one of the world's leading conservation organization, seeks an experienced US government proposal coordinator for its new business development team based in Washington, DC. The Program Officer supports the development of competitive applications for funding from USG agencies including USAID, USDOS, USFWS, and the EPA, in support of WWF priority initiatives. The program officer works with experienced proposal managers and WWF conservation experts across a wide variety of disciplines, based in the US and WWF offices worldwide. He/she participates in the identification, planning, coordination, formatting and submission of proposals. He/she manages proposal calendars, tracks proposal data, and reporting.



Responsibilities

  • Identifies funding opportunities with potential relevance for WWF through regular tracking of USAID and other USG agency solicitation announcements.
  • Coordinates the proposal development process, aiding proposal managers with development of outlines and calendars; scheduling and planning of proposal design/review meetings; organizing proposal files; and tracking inputs from internal and external writers, WWF country offices, partners, HR, and finance & administration staff.
  • Conducts background research and contributes to desk studies that support proposal planning, writing, and analysis.
  • Manages small proposals (under $200,000) under the supervision of a Senior Program Officer or Senior Director.
  • Manages proposal production process for complex submissions with guidance from proposal manager (Senior Program Officer or Senior Director).
  • Demonstrates facility with the grants.gov and grantsolutions.gov submission portals.
  • Maintains proposal tracker and files.
  • May travel to country offices to assist with proposal development.
  • Keeps abreast of relevant programmatic issues and funder priorities, in areas in which WWF has an ongoing interest.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

font-family: 'Calibri',sans-serif;">A Bachelor's degree is required, preferably in a field such as natural resources management, environmental science, international development, or conservation policy.</span></li> <li style="color: black;"><span style="font-size: 11.0pt; font-family: 'Calibri',sans-serif;">Position requires two years' experience in USG proposal development, preferably USAID, USDOS or USFWS, and an understanding of international conservation issues. </span></li> <li style="color: black;"><span style="font-size: 11.0pt; font-family: 'Calibri',sans-serif;">Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.</span></li> <li style="color: black;"><span style="font-size: 11.0pt; font-family: 'Calibri',sans-serif;">Excellent research, writing skills, editing and document production skills.</span></li> <li style="color: black;"><span style="font-size: 11.0pt;
