Description: Position Summary:
The Program Manager position, reporting directly to the Mgr., Project Management is responsible for serving as a subject matter expert (SME) for planning and leading the simultaneous cross-functional execution of multiple complex new product development (NPD) projects within a clinical or business area of Terumo Interventional Systems. The Program Manager will have developed a strong understanding of the clinical needs and business requirements of the area of new product development projects they are managing. The Program Manager is accountable for leading and facilitating the activities of the cross-functional project team members to achieve the overall attainment of project performance, cost and schedule objectives. The Program Manager may also have supervisory responsibilities for Associate Project Manager or Project Manager personnel reporting directly to them to support project activities or subsets of larger projects. The Program Manager will serve as a SME to the organization in the understanding and use of advanced project management tools and techniques and their deployment in a standard stage-gate product development process; the application and execution of Design Control requirements; and the use of Voice of the Customer (VOC) and Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) tools and techniques to advance the performance of new product development activities.

Position Details:
1. Lead the cross-functional execution of multiple complex new product development (NPD) projects within a clinical or business area of Terumo Interventional Systems.
2. Manage NPD projects in accordance with Terumo new product development process assuring the completion of all design control, business planning, and project management
3. Provide a strong understanding of the clinical needs and business requirements of the area of new product development projects they are managing.
4. Understand and facilitate the development of detailed project schedule and resourcing plans to achieve project objectives.
5. Implement appropriate advanced project management tools and techniques to drive project execution to include detailed project planning and scheduling, project budgeting and expense management, and capital equipment expense estimation and justification.
6. Serve as a subject matter expert on NPD stage-gate process and design control requirements.
7. Prepare presentations and formally present project update and reviews to senior management.
8. Plan and lead cross-functional project team meetings and prepare action items and status updates\/minutes for such meetings and reviews.
9. Conduct organizational training on the Terumo NPD development process, design controls, and project management tools (e.g., Cadence).
10. Serve as a supervisor and mentor to Associate Project Manager(s) or Project Manager(s) assigned to them to support project activities or subsets of larger projects.
11. Lead special projects as assigned by the Mgr., Project Management or the Vice President of New Product Development.
12. Performs other duties as assigned. Working Conditions: This position will be located in the Terumo manufacturing facility located in Elkton, MD. The position will perform required duties mainly in an office environment that is co-located with the NPD Laboratory and adjacent to manufacturing operations. Access to hospitals and hospital operating rooms will be required to meet with clinicians and observe relevant clinical procedures associated with new product development activities.
