SUMMARY: Performs repetitive bench or line Dispensing/Labeling/Assembly/Shrink wrap operations to produce diagnostic kits.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: All Production Specialists within a category must be able to perform but not limited to all indicated duties in the following:

Dispensing:

Read work order to determine type of reagent or standard to fill bottle, lot numbers, expiration date, amount of standard or reagent to place in bottles, and type of bottle to use.

Use different types of fillers such as an Eppendorf, Robotic Sample Filler, Digi-staltic, Manostat Compulab, Perry filler, and Watson-Marlow pump to fill bottles or glass vials.

Measure and test machines to ensure the correct amount of liquid are being placed into bottles.

Utilize scales to determine correct weight of filled bottles.

Label all boxes and/or trays.

Clean entire area after each fill.

Powder dispensing (responsible for all of the above and the following):

Use safety equipment such as respirators, aprons and gloves when filling bottles.

Monitor and control temperature and humidity of dry fill room.

Capping:

Ensure all caps are tightly secured to bottles by crimping or screwing caps on bottles.

Operate and maintain capper machine.

Perform light maintenance on the machine.

Torque Test:

Should be able to use Torque Tester.

Leak Test:

Should be able to use Leak Test Apparatus.

Labeler:

Set up labeling equipment.

Use labeling equipment such as:

o CVC - to place labels on packages manually (under 150 items)

o Accraply - to mechanically place labels on packages (large quantity items)

o Maintain label equipment by performing light maintenance.

Assembly:

Refer to the production order to determine items needed to fill bottles.

Place items into packages.

Send items to shrink-wrap machine.

Shrink-wrap:

Adjust shrink-wrap machine to package size.

Perform continual maintenance by removing unneeded wrapping materials, monitoring oven temperature and de-pressurizing air tank at the end of each shift.

Conduct quality control by inspecting each item before placing in transfer containers.

Place completed items in shipping boxes.

Occasionally move shipping containers weighing up to 100 pounds.
