Job Summary:

You will be responsible for leading your team with Safety, 5S, quality, delivery, and controlling cost in your department. This position requires you to train, direct, and hold accountability to the policies and processes of the organization through consistent, fair, and equal leadership practices. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Must be full-time and must have at least 1 year experience in commercial vehicle assembly (Walk-ins, Truck Bodies/PDVs). 
  • Must be flexible with work hours/assignments and have a good knowledge of the manufacturing build process. 
  • You will be required to be able to train your team to read installation and assembly prints, troubleshoot production issues, safety and 5S processes and regulations. 
  • Must have strong leadership skills including the ability to motivate co-workers, have a positive attitude, be highly organized and have a strong desire to be proactive in dealing with product and people issues. 
  • Ensure REV core values are being met Safety, Quality, and Delivery.
  • Complete daily toolbox meeting (must be prepared with an agenda), Note any absences and plan for the day and the recovery.  Communicate with your manager for support.
  • Ensure parts needed for production are prepared and planned.
  • Maintain safety and housekeeping within your department.
  • Train new and transferred employees.
  • Ensures quality assurance process is being followed.
  • Ensure that equipment and tooling is well maintained (working closely with Maintenance).
  • Support the assembly line where needed
  • Actively encourage employees to suggest improvements and facilitate the adoption of their ideas.
  • Daily evaluation: On time delivery (Index on time), buses for quality and built to print.
  • Be available for the hours and needs of the business.
  • Supervise all employees of the area, verify employees are working on assigned tasks.
  • Meet productivity and efficiency goals.
  • Help support the development of employees.
  • Learn and become proficient with reading engineering drawings.
  • Become familiar with work orders and options.
  • Elevate issues and improvement suggestions.
  • Complete the work order paperwork (including the components serial numbers).

 

 

Requirements (education, experience, travel, physical, work environment):

  • Understand and lead safety requirements - respond to/correct unsafe practices immediately, perform regular audits of your area to ensure compliance to our safety requirements and practices. 
  • In the event of an injury, promptly investigate and document as required. Promptly address corrective measures to prevent further injuries. 
  • Understand environmental requirements as applicable and maintain compliance. 
  • Train and hold accountability to the 5S process and expectation of your area. Complete regular audits to ensure the practices and processes are followed driving continuous improvement. 
  • Understand & communicate Quality Assurance standards. Drive training and accountability with your team for following our policies and procedures for a quality product.
  • Partner with various departments depending on business need (ex. Engineering, Quality, Purchasing, Sales, etc.) 
  • Ensure quality expectations are consistently achieved - issues are properly addressed and contained within the department. 
  • Identify and coordinate all required and necessary training. 
  • Be able to facilitate daily start-of-shift & other group meetings effectively and efficiently, holding accountability to the actions driven. 
  • Consistently display behaviors that support the Company Values with a sense of urgency to exceed our customers’ expectations. 
  • You must be able to promptly address technical and behavioral performance issues. 
  • You must be able to drive change and continuous improvement throughout the work area. 
  • 2 – 3 years of experience preferred but not required or equivalent leadership experience.
  • Strong bilingual (English/Spanish) skills required.
  • You must be proficient with computers.

The employee is occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in high precarious places. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

  • Must be able to climb, twist, bend, stoop, stand, squat, and grasp.
  • Must have use of hands and be able to work over-head.
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds.

The pay for newly hired employees in this position at this location in California is  between $26.00 - $41.00.  This is based on meeting all of the requirements of the role.  The base pay offered for the role may vary depending on the candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.  We are proud to offer competitive benefits in addition to competitive pay.  Our pay for performance philosophy allows top performers to earn more based on their continued success.
