Job Summary:
The Product Manager is responsible for all strategic business planning and product lifecycle planning and execution activities for the assigned product platform(s) and therapeutic areas(s) for Terumo Pharmaceutical Solutions (TPS). This includes creating and executing effective business plans to ensure that products in the assigned portfolio meet the needs of pharmaceutical companies and achieve short and long term TPS revenue and operating profit targets.
This role is responsible for both upstream and downstream activities. Upstream activities include identifying market unmet needs and creating quantitative and qualitative new product development proposals that will drive long term business growth. Traditional downstream activities include product launches, sales training & education, developing go to market strategies and generally building and executing product commercialization plans.  
Key to the success of the Product Manager is:
1) Create and implement product life cycle management plans for the assigned product portfolio and associated therapeutic areas
2) Serve as a product expert that trains the TPS team and collaborates with the sales team to advance leads to opportunities; and opportunities to revenue generating business
3) Understand and assess unmet market needs for assigned therapeutic \/ product areas and lead the creation of business cases (quantitative and qualitative) to support product customization requests and new product development programs.
4) Ability to build relationships and partner with the sales force, operations team, product development organization, customers, and key opinion leaders.
Job Details:
1. Primary responsibility for representing market requirements and customer needs on new product development teams to support the business. This includes regular remote and in-person attendance at core team meetings at global locations.
2. Primary responsibility for creating business cases with discounted cash flow projections for new product concepts to support the business. Preferred candidate will have successful track record of creating business cases and gaining upper management approval through presentations that focus on key strategies, tactics, deliverables and financial projections.
3. Primary responsibility for traditional marketing deliverables such as business plans, pricing, product positioning, new product customizations, life cycle plans and advising on product improvements.
4. Own the product launch programs for their portfolio. Coordinating cross functional teams and communicating risks, opportunities or potential delays. 
5. Primary responsibility to attend industry trade shows and support the sales team on customer visits as needed to develop new leads and opportunities for the business.
6. Primary responsibility to educate the TPS team on new product development activities and create customer presentations with updated materials and communications on an ongoing basis.
7. Create executive management level presentations that communicate strategic plans and activity status of the product platform(s) and therapeutic areas(s).  
8. Key contributor in prioritizing and sequencing new product development pipeline in conjunction with the required business needs and product gaps
9. Develop sales and marketing tactics to include but not limited to brochures, trade advertising, training manuals, show materials, customer presentations, and other collateral materials.  Coordinate legal and regulatory approval of these documents.
10. Analyze and report on a regular basis market trends, sales, and competitive information and their effect on the Terumo product portfolio.
11. Routinely communicate with the sales force regarding product updates and availability, competitive activity, sales positioning, best practices, and new product development updates.  
12. Develop and expand technical knowledge necessary for product line management and customer interaction.
13. Remain abreast of the market, the competition and the environment.  Act as an information resource to all functional areas. Identify key competitors, understand and analyze the competitive market environment and act to position TPS as the preferred pharmaceutical partner.  Provide input on companies that may be attractive partnership or acquisition targets to support the growth of the Terumo Pharmaceutical Solutions business.
14. Identify and propose new projects which will enhance the performance of the product line, broaden the offerings and maximize the product line earnings.
15. Demonstrate a commitment to patient safety and product quality by maintaining compliance with all TPS, TMC, and TE Quality Systems requirements. This includes but is not limited to the prompt recognition and forwarding of customer complaints (i.e. adverse events, product performance reports, etc.) to Quality Assurance (QA), and by ensuring all promotional messaging (i.e. branding strategies, product claims, etc.) and materials (i.e. literature) discussed or presented to customers are clinically accurate and adhere to AdvaMed guidelines and TerumoÙs policy on Interactions with Healthcare Professionals.  Maintain strong knowledge of and adherence to regulations regarding promotional material content and control. Follow procedures for good clinical practices and Design Control when participating in new product development and clinical activities. Fully adhere to all applicable FDA regulations, international guidelines and TerumoÙs policies at all times. 
16. Perform other job related duties as assigned.
Working Conditions:  
1. This position exists in an office environment. Up to 50% overnight domestic and international travel is required including occasional weekend travel.
2. Occasional entry to pharmaceutical companies, healthcare and other medical facilities is required. Many facilities have instituted vendor credentialing policies which require vendors to meet defined training, background check, and proof of immunization requirements as a condition of entry. Terumo Associates entering these facilities are required to abide by these credentialing requirements.
