Amgen's Process Development Cell Therapy group aims to establish end-to-end CAR T capabilities. We are seeking a motivated Senior Associate with experience in cell therapy to join our team.

The Process Development Sr. Associate will support ongoing lab activities including executing assays, cell culture and T cell bioprocessing. The ability to work in a team and in a collaborative environment with other members of the organization is essential. The individual would independently conduct experiments and maintain detailed records of procedure and results.

Responsibilities include:
  • General cell culture activities
  • Execution of PCR based methods and cell-based cytotoxicity assays
  • Transfection and transduction of T cells
  • T cell characterization using flow cytometry
  • Running ELISA-based cytokine detection assays
  • Assisting with method qualification and method transfer


Basic Qualifications:

Master's degree

OR

Bachelor's degree and 2 years of scientific experience

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 1+ years of experience in the cellular therapy space
  • Knowledge of cell therapy, T cell biology and the current CAR-T manufacturing process
  • Experience in culturing PBMCs, human T cells and mammalian cell lines
  • Experience with qPCR and RT-PCR based methods
  • Experience with immunophenotyping using flow cytometry
  • Experience with lentiviral transduction and nucleofection, particularly on T cells
  • Ability to work well as a team
  • Excellent record keeping and communication skills
  • Superb organization and time management skills with the ability to run overlapping experiments
