What you will do

Let's do this. Let's change the world. In this vital role you will serve as a member of Drug Product development teams providing hands-on formulation and process support during the development of clinical solid oral dosage forms. This role will be part of the Oral & Enabling Delivery Systems group within Drug Product Technologies (DPT) at Amgen.

The role will collaborate with diverse groups within DPT (i.e. Synthetic Enabling Technologies, Pivotal Synthetic Drug Product, etc.) and with external functions, such as Drug Substance Technologies, Attribute Sciences, Supply Chain, Contract Manufacturing, etc.

The individual will integrate and utilize platform capabilities, coordinate and analyze results with minimal direction as well as communicate and present in team meetings. The experimental results will lead to the best possible formulation and processes.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Material Sciences, Bioengineering, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or other relevant field with 2+ years of experience in pharmaceutical industry with an emphasis on oral solid dosage forms
• Understanding of typical unit operations for the manufacture of oral solid dosage forms (i.e. granulation, roller compaction, drying, milling, blending, compression, film coating, etc.)
• Familiarity in solid oral dosage form optimization using QbD principles
• Experience with characterizing powder blends and solid oral dosage forms
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills that enable effective management and resolution of complex project-related issues involving collaborations with multiple functional areas

Basic Qualifications:

Master's degree

OR

Bachelor's degree and 2 years of scientific experience
