Amgen's Process Development Cell Therapy group seeks to establish end-to-end CAR-T capabilities. We are seeking a motivated Scientist with experience in cell therapy analytics to join our team.

The Process Development Scientist will be encouraged to contribute to experimental design and overall analytical strategy. The ability to work in a team and in a collaborative environment with other members of the organization is essential. The individual would independently conduct experiments and maintain detailed records of procedure and results.

Responsibilities include:
  • Design and execution of PCR based methods for identity testing (VCN)
  • Transcriptional profiling of T cells (Nanostring, sc-RNAseq)
  • Immunophenotyping using flow cytometry
  • Multiplexing ELISA-based cytokine detection assays
  • Method qualification and method transfer


Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree

OR

Master's degree and 4 years of scientific experience

OR

Bachelor's degree and 6 years of scientific experience

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of work experience in the cellular therapy space
  • Knowledge of cell therapy, T cell biology and the current CAR-T manufacturing process
  • Familiarity with regulatory guidelines for CAR-T release testing
  • Experience in culturing PBMCs, human T cells and mammalian cell lines
  • Experience with qPCR, ddPCR and RT-PCR based methods
  • Experience with lentiviral transduction and nucleofection, particularly on T cells
  • Shown success working with diverse team members in a multifaceted, cross-functional environment
  • Excellent record keeping and communication skills
  • Superb organization and time management skills with the ability to run overlapping experiments
  • Experience drafting method development reports, technical reports, and standard operating procedures (SOP)
  • Experience detailing experiments in quality management systems or electronic lab notebooks
