The Attribute Sciences group within Process Development provides scientific and technical expertise to support the commercialization of Amgen's pipeline. This group identifies and coordinates the achievement of product attributes toward quality target product profiles, develops and applies fit-for-purpose analytical methodologies.

This position is an exciting opportunity in Attribute Sciences based at Amgen's Cambridge site. The candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to perform in silico analysis of therapeutic proteins (e.g. monoclonal antibodies) for identifying & predicting outcomes such as clinical half-life, clinical dosing requirements, manufacturing challenges, shelf life stability, etc. Given the multidisciplinary nature of this role, the candidate will be expected to be a quick learner and be able to effectively learn from the published literature and via interactions with subject matter experts.

The successful candidate will also curate and analyze both internal and external published information on the clinical and commercial observations and present the analysis using business analytics tools such as Spotfire, Tableau, etc.. The other responsibilities will include development of novel computational strategies, workflows and technologies for enabling the in silico assessment of the proteins. These technologies will provide differentiating capability for the advancement of the lead molecules (from a panel of candidates) that is most likely to meet the clinical and commercial design goals.

Keeps current with field of expertise, participates in, and can direct team efforts advancing development/technology programs within the department

COMMUNICATION

Authors technical reports and assessments independently

Gives effective presentations within the department and to senior management

Actively creates or contributes to publications and/or patents

Basic Qualifications

Doctorate degree

OR

Master's degree and 4 years of scientific experience

OR

Bachelor's degree and 6 years of scientific experience

Preferred Qualifications

Doctorate degree in Chemical/Biochemical Engineering

Expertise with a variety of computational tools and 1-2 programming/scripting languages.

Familiarity with the antibody sequence analysis

2+ years of scientific experience within the biotech industry in a computational role

Good literature mining and data curation skills
