What We're Looking For:

NetMotion Software is looking for a Pre-Sales Systems Engineer (SE) to provide technical sales support as a product expert within our domestic Sales team. The SE is a highly technical sales professional who is responsible for working with our Sales teams to drive significant revenue growth within the region.

The SE manages the technical sales process during customer qualification, pre-sales, product evaluations and ongoing technical training to NetMotion customers and partners in the region. This position is a technical evangelist for our software platform, representing the company with potential customers, partners and events.

You will be expected to quickly come up to speed on our platform, as well as understand how the software can be deployed across networks and utilizing different types of devices including laptops, tablets and handhelds that are Microsoft Windows, Android, iOS or macOS based. Your in-depth knowledge of networking, security, firewalls and operating systems will help you to effectively position our products, while also helping to solve difficult technical problems for potential customers during pre-sales presentations, demonstrations and evaluations.

This is a position based out of our Seattle headquarters. Due to the nature of the role, 50%+ travel is expected post-pandemic.

  • Partner with the Sales teams to establish strategy for sales and technical direction for the region.
  • Deliver technical sales presentations to prospective customers and partners.
  • Provide training and technical support to NetMotion customers and prospects as well as channel and marketing partners.
  • Install and configure the NetMotion platform and provide technical support to prospective customers who are evaluating NetMotion and support them through the evaluation.
  • Consult with prospective and existing customers regarding appropriate third-party products that are complementary to NetMotion.
  • Funnel feature requests and product ideas into product management. Assist product management in developing priorities for the company's product roadmap.
  • When necessary, assist the NetMotion technical support team to resolve post-sale customer issues.
  • Document prospect evaluation status in Salesforce.com.

Your Skills:

  • An in-depth understanding of software, security and network engineering.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of network/software sales engineering experience working with enterprise accounts.
  • A strong foundation in network design, configuration and troubleshooting current relevant vendor certification is desirable.
  • Experience working hands-on installing, configuring and trouble-shooting complex network and/or security products.
  • A strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing and firewalls to be able to understand potential customer environments.
  • Security experience, particularly with VPN, firewall and cloud security products including Software Defined Perimeter and SASE.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to all levels of people, from IT managers to CISOs.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with and present technical topics to networking and security groups within large IT organizations.
  • Willing to travel 50%+ of the time post-pandemic.
