The Department of Metabolic Disorders at Amgen Inc. is currently seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow to contribute to our research efforts in understanding the role of myofilament dysfunction in heart failure and atrial fibrillation. The successful candidate will have earned a PhD in molecular biology, physiology, biochemistry, pathology, or other related basic science discipline with a specific background in cardiac pathophysiology. They should be able to use in vitro and in vivo tools to evaluate and understand the impact of genetic or pharmacological interventions on atrial fibrillation and heart failure. In this role, you will be expected to design, execute and analyze studies, interpret and present data to various meetings and write scientific manuscripts. The postdoctoral position is for 3 years.

Basic Qualifications
  • PhD in Biochemistry, Biology, or Molecular/Cellular Biology and less than 4 years of prior postdoctoral experience.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Proven track record of scientific publications with demonstrable experience working with cardiomyocytes, myofilament preparations or in vivo cardiac function assessment.
  • Ideal candidates will have strong written/verbal communication skills and thrive working in a team environment.
