The Intellectual Property Litigation team at Amgen is looking for a Patent Coordinator -- IP Litigation Administrative Coordinator to support the Intellectual Property Litigation team.

The role of the Patent Coordinator -- IP Litigation Administrative Coordinator will be to provide support to the Intellectual Property Litigation team by assisting and supporting our litigation teams in the U.S. and global intellectual property litigations.

Responsibilities include:
  • Providing backup support to additional department Administrative Coordinators
  • Leading multiple calendars including coordination across multiple time zones (Outlook)
  • Maintaining electronic databases
  • Drafting correspondence, e-mails, and engagement letters
  • Acquiring references, case law, patents, file histories
  • Coordinating materials, setting up binders
  • Additional responsibilities will include:
  • Preparing Power Point presentations and word processing
  • Scheduling meetings and video conferences
  • Coordinating travel arrangements, and utilizing on-line services (document orders, shipping, office supplies, etc.), copying and scanning
  • Interacting with U.S. and global litigation counsel and support staff
  • Reviewing, prioritizing and flagging high priority communications (emails, pleadings, and documentation) for timely and appropriate response
  • Engaging internal contacts to provide prompt responses to inquiries from staff at all levels of the various organizations impacted by the client
  • Timely preparing and processing of expense reports
  • Assisting with billing and budget matters
  • Maintaining and retrieving filed pleadings, information and correspondence to ensure immediate access to information

Basic Qualifications

Associate's degree and 2 years of Legal experience

OR

High school diploma/GED and 4 years of Legal experience

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Recent litigation experience in a law firm or corporate law department
  • Patent prosecution experience
  • 3+ years of experience in a law firm
  • Discretion in dealing with proprietary information
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Exceptional communication skills - oral and written
  • Excellent time management and project management skills
  • Excellent Microsoft Office Suite skills
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail and lead several projects simultaneously
  • Outstanding organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Resourceful, creative, flexible and great teammate
