The Operations Department of Arnold & Porter has an opening for an Operations Manager in the New York office. 
  • Overseeing general maintenance of New York office and surrounding areas including construction/repairs/renovations.
  • Coordinating and maintaining New York subtenant relationships and spaces.  Serving as the liaison between subtenant, subtenant landlord and landlord.
  • Developing and maintaining an automated program to track wear/damage and coordinate timely/economical repairs.
  • Ordering Firm signage and ensuring appropriate signs are displayed.
  • Coordinating the Firm’s local transportation services (black car and LYFT) including reconciling LYFT expenses in Chrome River, and reviewing costs/maintaining contracts and beneficial pricing for multiple black car services.
  • Managing mail/copy room (outsourced vender).
  • Serving as primary liaison with NY building management.
  • Overseeing NY Office pest control and maintenance program.
  • Maintaining primary relationships with space related vendors and maintaining the departments’ master vendor contact list.
  • Maintaining FDNY Permits and work with Facilities Manager to support TCP program.
  • Coordinating personnel logistics for arrivals and departures.
  • Organizing proper payment and processing of operations vendor invoices.
  • Monitoring monthly variance reports and making appropriate adjustments.
  • Preparing annual departmental budget.
  • Reviewing operations staff and contributing to facilities staff reviews in a timely and effective manner.
  • Coordinating all operational issues between other administrative departments.


  • Four-year college degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in operations/facilities preferably in a professional services environment.
  • Minimum of two years of supervisory experience. 
  • Confident communicator, ability to work effectively with partners and senior administration of the Firm.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to manage effectively.
  • Ability to create, balance and work within a budget.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle changing deadlines.
  • Flexibility for occasional travel and work after hours/holidays as needed.
