SmithBucklin, a 100 percent employee-owned association management company, is looking for a Membership & Operations Sr. Associate to join our Healthcare & Scientific Industry Practice in Chicago, IL. The Healthcare & Scientific unit offers unmatched association expertise and specific knowledge of the issues, challenges and actions distinctive to the changing healthcare environment. From legislative and regulatory advocacy, to building successful industry relations programs and understanding the intricacies of journal publishing and management issues, our association professionals bring extensive experience and considerable knowledge of the issues unique to healthcare-related associations. The Membership & Operations Sr. Associate plays an integral role in supporting and guiding the nonprofit volunteers, members and committees from our client organizations.

What You Will Do

  • Provide critical customer service in support of client volunteers, members and committees
  • Serve as primary staff liaison for multiple committees
  • Serve as a resource to chapter executives, troubleshooting issues such as membership dues-related issues and requests for publication fulfillment
  • Process payments for dues, educational courses and webcasts, product sales and other related activities
  • Reconcile and provide reports for activity and program outcomes
  • Develop, roll-out and monitor social media outreach efforts
  • Serve as website coordinator; process frequent updates and manage content
  • Draft and build e-communications
  • Create reports and manage data quality for membership and ancillary relational databases

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year institution
  • 2-4 years of relevant professional experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with volunteers is valuable
  • Database experience (Avectra, iMIS, ACT) is preferred
  • Web, social media and HTML experience is preferred
  • Proficiency with basic computer programming, including the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
