The MSL is an integral position in assuring accurate, clear and fair-balanced information regarding our science and products to multiple levels within the medical community. In addition, the MSL will provide feedback based on field interactions and scientific support consistent with Amgen research, product support, and specific role and duties.

This is a field-based position in the Inflammation and Bone Medical Science Liaison (MSL) team within the US Medical Capabilities, Research & Development organization. Territory includes DC/MD/VA/WV.

  • Communicate complex, cutting-edge scientific information and research concepts to healthcare decision makers including, but not limited to, those at Centers of Education and Research
  • Facilitate submission of investigator-sponsored research proposals
  • Support Amgen-sponsored research
  • Provide scientific support consistent with the MSL compliance standards for field-based Medical staff and other matrix colleagues-facilitated HCP inquiries
  • Foster scientific relationships between Amgen and Fellows-in-training
  • Provide clinical and economic value information to payers and formulary decision makers
  • Lead and/or participate on committees or project teams that support MSL strategies and tactics, as delegated
  • Assist with identification and training of Amgen Speakers Bureau
  • Seek opportunities to support the MSL value proposition, achieve results and set an example for others to follow by consistently demonstrating Amgen Values and Leadership Attributes
  • Demonstrate tact and organizational savviness when communicating and interacting with others. The
  • Senior MSL will model openness and innovation through words, actions and decisions. Amgen MSLs share learning including entrepreneurial and innovative ideas with others and hold self-accountable for performance as well as encouraging others to achieve, and be accountable, for performance.

Basic Qualifications
  • Doctorate degree

Preferred Qualifications
  • Pharm.D., Ph.D., M.D. or D.O. (other Doctorate degrees considered in medically-relevant field)
  • At least seven (7) years of experience in related field, including 2+ years of clinical practice, clinical research, or medical research experience. Experience in a medically-related field can include post-doctoral training (e.g., residency and/or fellowship)
  • Minimum two (2) years of industry Medical Science Liaison experience in biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry strongly preferred
  • Current Amgen experience in Scientific or Medical Affairs
  • Knowledge in Inflammation and/or Bone therapeutic expertise area
