Responsibilities:
  • Collaborates with faculty, staff, administrators, and EdTech personnel to conceptualize and produce creative, appropriate solutions, based on project goals or objectives, for multimedia products addressing scope, theme, audio, and visual elements, timeline, and priorities. Consults with clients and EdTech personnel to evaluate effectiveness of finished products.
  • Pre-Production: Coordinates, develops and performs studio and field pre-production activities such as storyboards, scripts, schedules, talent acquisition, location scouting, set design, graphics preparation, and rehearsals.
  • Studio Production: Coordinate pre-production and production planning activities; conducts studio-based video production which involves interacting with College f faculty, staff, administrators, and students; plans and directs assigned studio productions within a multi-camera studio including control room and sound booth; sets up props and set design; sets up and adjusts video and photography equipment; sets up and adjusts studio lighting equipment; sets up and adjusts audio equipment; provides troubleshooting of video, audio and lighting equipment; performs routine equipment maintenance; makes recommendations to department for software and equipment purchases for studio usage.
  • Field Production: Coordinate pre-production and production planning activities; conducts field- based video production which involves interacting with College faculty, staff, administrators, and students; plans and directs assigned field productions; operates all portable video and audio equipment; transports and sets up lighting, video, and audio equipment as required; provides troubleshooting and maintenance of field production equipment.
  • Post-Production: Plans and performs video post-production tasks which includes reviewing footage, making editorial decisions, rough cuts, audio adjustment, color correction, music selection, and final editing; utilizes computer graphics and special effects for video post-production in accordance with overall production concepts; produces video projects for output; captures recorded video using software and encodes media as appropriate; creates and optimizes various media file types for specific delivery environments; coordinates additional production services as required.
  • Applies principles of photography and graphic design to photographs or create appropriate, visually appealing images which meet project goals or objectives.
  • Keeps current with software and hardware advances and trends in multimedia production through research, exploration and professional development.
  • Performs administrative duties; composes reports and maintains files and records; disseminates information through written and oral reports.
  • Research and develop recommendations for multimedia equipment and software.
  • Participate on committees and councils as appropriate.
  • Provide feedback and recommendations for continuous improvements.
  • Other duties as assigned.





Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge and skills using diverse multimedia hardware, software, production equipment, television-type videography skills, teleprompter skills, chromakey compositing process, and post videographic production.
  • Knowledge of current TV, video and photographic production equipment and techniques.
  • Skills in effectively communicating with personnel at all levels.
  • Skills in coordinating with multiple people on a variety of projects.
  • Skills in working in various roles on a project team.

Required Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree (or higher level degree) in related field or equivalent
    experience in multimedia production field.

PreferredExperience:
  • Preferred minimum 2 years' experience in multimedia production, or similar job, in an academic environment.
